Ya know, I hadn't thought about him sliding to the third. It's a possibility if a few RB's are taken ahead of him... Just look at the RB class this year without Gurley:
Gordon, Langford, Abdullah, Jay Ajayi, David Cobb, Coleman, Duke Johnson and David Johnson.
SOMEONE good will be there in the third.

Gurley won't slide to 3rd. Most impressive RB in college since Adrian Peterson
Edit: if he played a full season he is heisman winner and top 5 pick

His Doctors said he should be back on the Practice field no later then mid July-Early August.
No chance he slides to the 3rd. He's probably a late 1st, early 2nd round pick IMO

No, we're all calling you insane for thinking he may fall to the 3rd round. I don't think there's a chance he is there for our 2nd pick and wouldn't be surprised if he's taken ahead of Melvin Gordon who displayed mediocre long speed and didn't have great times in the shuttle or 3 cone either.

This. Someone will take a chance on him in the 1st, or at the latest, early 2nd.

Baalke might see this as his last ditch chance to prove his busted knee theory works.

My pants would probably be clean, but I'd be concerned. The refused medical eval was strange. Everyone expected him to be somewhere in the rehab process, so the refusal makes me fear the worst. Baalke would have to be pretty confident about the eval he gets from the team docs. As far as talent, he'd be a monster here. Not many teams are more committed to the run. A healthy Gurley beats out Hyde, who becomes an unfortunate insurance policy, and a bit of a waste of talent. I REALLY don't want Seattle to get this guy. I'm finally allowing myself to imagine them without Lynch.

He refused to be medically evaluated?
I'd hate for the Niners to get Lattimore 2.0. But honestly, Lattimore was so good when healthy it was worth the risk. It's not like 4th rounders typically fare well anyway.
And Gurley was better than Lattimore was IMO. Gotta double down & go for the long ball. Draft him!

NFL Films' Greg Cosell called Georgia RB Todd Gurley "the best back in the draft."
"I like Gurley more (than Melvin Gordon)," Cosell said. "Gurley, to me, has elements of Steven Jackson in his prime and Marshawn Lynch. He's that kind of runner. He's got an excellent combination of size, power, short-area quickness and burst, and top-end acceleration. I like Gurley a lot. And he looks like an NFL foundation back. I think he can be the starting point of an NFL offense." You already know we're on the same page, as perhaps no analyst or news organization is as high on Gurley as Rotoworld, which ranks the 20-year-old No. 5 overall. "A complete back who can be the foundation of an offense," wrote lead site draft analyst Josh Norris. "Will pick up the yards blocked for him and also create on his own, both after contact and beating defenders' angles. Agility to weave between lanes without wasted movement is a plus. Comfortable as a receiver on screens with patience to make most of blocks."
Rotoworld
I kinda agree here, he looks pretty pro ready.

Yeah, I like him more than Gordon. He's more of a downhill runner, but also has more speed when he runs to the outside. He's similar to Lynch - he's faster, but doesn't run as angry (no one does). I wouldn't mind him at 15 actually if his knee checks out. If we draft Gurley, get Torrey Smith in free agency, and draft depth on the O Line, our offense is good to go.

And sounds like Crabtree may be back, they talked to Jerome Simpson this week and he would be a cheap vertical threat.

I'd be okay swapping out Torrey Smith for Stevie's contract. That takes care of WR for this year, but still leaves a giant hole when Q retires. I'd like to see a trade back in the first, and a chance to draft both Gurley and D. Smith, who I think could be similar to Odell Beckham with similar coaching (lucky for us, we have Beckham's coach). Gurley should be healthy in time for the season, and could be eased into playing time with Hyde/Hunter/maybe Gore taking snaps.
I can't imagine a much better scenario than locking down Gurley and a dominant downfield WR who has the potential to develop better tools (D. Smith, DGB, possibly Strong/Dorsett/Lockett).
I really like the other backs: Coleman, Gordon, Ajayi, even Allen or Johnson later, but no one touches Gurley, IMO.
