At the Purdue game, the scouts should keep there eyes on Kawann Short (obviously) but both CBs are studs; Josh Johnson and Ricardo Allen. Others to keep an eye on are WR Antavian Edison and C Rick Schmeig. Another guy to keep an eye on is TE Crosby Wright.

Marshall's main prospect WR Aaron Dobson is another but he has been quiet today. But the game I'm most interested in is the VTech game, 3 games in 5 weeks??? I really want to know who we are so interested in.....DE/OLB Justin Gayle? WR Marcus Davis? there are a lot of others too.

Yeah Dobson hasn't done much. Marshall is only throwing to Shuler it seems.

Wish I had the Big Ten network to watch it, I think Dobson might be worth it as red zone threat. I havent been able to watch him a lot this season.

When in the RZ Marshall hasn't even gone Dobson's way. Went to their TE twice and another WR another time. Dobson for being 6'3 doesn't seem to be able to separate at all from Allen or Johnson. Has 3 catches right now for like 40 something yards.

Edit. Marshall just got down to the RZ, 1st pass was to Dobson who got the ball yanked out of his hands by Johnson. 2nd pass to their #2 TE and didn't look near Dobson and the 3rd play went to their TE for his 3rd TD today.

wow I havent even looked at the box score in 30 minutes and thats what he had when i looked. Oh well Marcus Davis looks like another potential mid to late round pick that would be worth our time, deep threat and very good after the catch, measures at 6'4' 230 and looks fairly fast. He's having a good day for VT 3 catches for 75 yards and was wide open for a long TD if Thomas had looked back that way.

Nice updates. With this coaching staff it is really hard to decipher who or which players we are actually scouting. We have come so far as a complete organization in such a short time.

I just wish ninernation was easier to search because I want to go back to last season and see how frequently we watch AJ and LMJ because I'm wondering if we use our scouting trips to watch later round talent while they watch "coaches film" on more blue chip players with less to prove and rely more on pro-day/personal workouts and interviews with those.
only player to watch at cal is keenan allen
Great thread.

if anyone ever wants to watch a game that's not televised

That's how I always watch UCLA play
It's also nice to see Jerry Rice Jr gradually become more involved in the offense

How many more years of eligibility does he have? I dont think he'll be in the NFL but I would love to watch him play.

Jreff22, need to add CB Ricardo Allen to the Purdue list. I've read he's being ranked as high as 2nd round. He's a Jr. to so he's eligible for the draft. I believe National Football Post has him as a top 5 CB.

Agree, I have season tickets and the season is abysmal. Keenan Allen is th eonly prospect on the Cal team that stands out.

With Moss likely to leave after this season, Marcus Davis really jumps out at me when looking at the measurements. Especially after hearing that he has 4.4 speed and a 44inch vertical. Redzone type with speed plus, we've scouted 3 of thier games so far. I havnt seen him play so can somebody give me more input please?

Just as we have a prospect thread I thought it would be a good idea to post every game we have scouts at so we have a decent idea of what schools were personally taking a look at. I'm stealing the links from NinersNation.com but at least it'll be easier to see all the links here in 1 place.

BOLD = Notable game
* = multiple games scouting this shool

Week 1: We sent scouts to 10 games in week 1.
http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/9/1/3284907/2013-nfl-draft-49ers-week-1-scouting-trips

Towson at Kent State
Buffalo at Georgia
Appalachian State at East Carolina
Elon at North Carolina
Eastern Kentucky at Purdue
Colorado State at Colorado
Kentucky at Louisville
Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech*
Boise State at Michigan State

Week 2: Only 1 game
http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/9/8/3302910/2013-nfl-draft-49ers-week-2-scouting-trip
Iowa v Iowa State

Week 6 Games

USC at Utah
Utah State at Brigham Young
Virginia Tech at North Carolina

Note: Were now on our 4th Virginia Tech game - I REALLY REALLY want to know who we are so interested in!
3rd North Carolina game
--------------

I'll try and update the links from NN -- maybe this will give us Armchair GMs a chance to establish a pattern of who we are scouting.

No doubt that Tavon Austin is who they went to see in WV, doubt they'll sincerely target him, but its possible. Def thinking MArcus Davis though in VT.
Shawn Williams and Baccarri RAMBO are obvious ones in Georgia.
not too hard to fugure out who they saw in SoCal either.
No scouts at the WVU vs Texas game?
