Coby Fleener - TE Stanford

No thanks. I want Fleener not just because he's a tight-end but because he's a massive red-zone target and is already familiar with the offense. Allen is like 6'3", so little difference between him and VD other than Allen having better hands and being a lot slower.

I'd pass on Allen. He wouldn't help us as much as Fleener would as far as being that big target. I really hope that Stephen Hill falls to us.

Still hoping Fleener trips over a banana peel or something and runs like a 5.30 40 at the Stanford Pro Day.
Stupid Orson Charles

the recieving TE talent in this draft is there til the 3rd or 4th round we dont need to take a TE so early i say get Wr in R 1 CB in r @ then TE in 3rd

If you're talking about Green, at this point he's just a big WR who really can't block for s**t and would need considerable development. I'd rather take the guy who is ready to play out of the box, then draft a WR like Marvin Jones in the 2nd who is also fairly ready to play, and then draft a CB in the 3rd.

Interesting that you mention that because my mock that I'm working on is pretty close to how you have it put. I have a WR in the 1st, corner in the 2nd, OG in the 3rd, TE in the 4th.
not to be a kill joy, as there are alot of things I like about Fleener...saw him in the notre dame game put a dback on the ground with a fake outside and sharp cut inside, leading to an easy td catch.....in ways he seems like a bigger, faster ed mccaffrey.....

but looking at his career stats, he played 51 games and only had 96 catches...that is less than 2 a game...does that kind of production warrant a 1st rd pick?
When is the Stanford pro day? I want to know where his stock is going to be. Hopefully Harbaugh told him to run like a turtle so we can get him.

Keep in mind that in the Stanford offense he was splitting time with basically everyone. They always had about 3 TE's, plus WR's....etc...etc.

Fleener doesnt have a chance to fall to us now. Now if we can draft Hill, sign Robinson from Dal along with Royal from Denver... new wet dream scenario that gives us a nice blend of size, speed, and agility to fill out the WR corp.

Plus even though he may not have the speed of Fleener, "Novacek" could be the answer to our redzone & 3rd down woes if his hands are as sick as they have been reporting.
