im diggin this draft. Aldon looks like hes gonna be a monster, Kap is gonna be a stud the guy has every thing a qb could ever ask for and much more, that corner or fs is good depth and could possibly start and then we got a burner at RB finally to take it to the house after gore and dixon bruise up all the other teams would be tacklers. very solid draft. reach? if they reach to get the player they want and the one they know will be an important part of this team for many years then reach away at every pick!!! better to get what you want than to sit and wait and miss your guys. just because kiper and mayock dont think we shoulda taken a guy earlier than they would doesnt mean they know everything. why arent they GMs somewhere since theyre so awesome??? look at how many times they were wrong in the 1st round alone and tell me if theyre not just guessing like the rest of us

Bill Parcells wasn't that great as a GM. He pretty much had all of his success with Belichick carrying his @ss around.
He basically built the current Cowboys team which has some talent...
But won nothing.
And we are in a position to turn our noses up at what Parcells built in Dallas based off of something that happened here over 30 years ago?

OP, I am not saying I disagree with you.
But analysts across the nation do.
Just sayin.

Does that make the talent he brought in any worse?
Sure it does. How talented is Romo if he never won a playoff game?
You can't say that about every position and obviously Ware is a home run selection, but ultimately we judge coaches and GM's off of post season success. Parcells has very little of that without Belechick. Gotta give credit to him to for hiring him but it's like Ditka and Buddy Ryan.
uhhgggg, this guy is actually trying to say the Parcells isnt a good GM,,, i will stop reading now!
67-76-1 as a head coach w/o Belichek and 1-4 in the playoffs.
He definetily makes teams better than before and has found alot of great players, but he's not the GM you guys are making him out to be.
Miami has one playoff loss since he took over and they only got that because of the Wildcat.
Dallas has 0 playoffs wins since he build that team.
Where's the greatness that you guys speak of?
Dallas won a playoff game last year

Just for the record. You were wrong too. Wild card playoff games are easily forgotten.

Hate to break it to you, these picks are reaches but with that said it's a very very weak draft. I think Baalke is just making sure he gets his guys regardless of what the nay Sayers are talking about and you have to respect that. Only time will tell so I'm giving Baalke a flyer on this one. Baalke did a great job in last years draft and I believe it was one of our best drafts since Walsh was calling the shots. I'll be honest, I am a bit disappointed so far but hey, I'm no expert so I must have faith and trust that Baalke knows what he's doing. You guys should too, we have no choice anyway so why beat a dead horse and cry over spilled milk? For all we know, that dead horse with milk spilled all over it is really a stallion just waiting to be resurrected...

For the haters who think we've failed at every pick... jump in a failboat.
Right now our draft is mimicking a Bill Parcells draft, and no surprise since Baalke is a pupil with Parcells.
Rd1: as explained multiple times we didn't want this pick and got stuck with it, that being said we picked the #2 rated OLB by allot of scouts and even the big Tuna himself... who drafted Ware, Canty, Ratliff and Spears in one draft. He knows his DL/Rush linebackers.
Rd2: Kaepernick. Regardless of your view of boom or bust potential, this is Jim's guy and what every team that was in the bidding for JH when the coaching carousel began was hoping for... a QB coach with a track record of success to select his own QB. We got both, lets be happy and move on. Obviously Stanzi wasn't that impressive if he is still on the board, but allot of fans would be singing a different toon had we waited and just landed him, which in hindsight would now be a reach.
Rd3: Again not sexy to the draftniks, but Parcells and other services had this guy going in round 3. How is that a reach? Oh because Mayock made one 5 second comment after he was drafted only because he didn't fit into Mayock's big board.
Doesn't anyone get that when draftniks get showed up by teams, they are egomaniacs and of course will talk smack??? It's their job to set up a fictitious board (based off the same internet research we do) and then discuss reaches and value picks for television entertainment. They never concede they are wrong, only point to those picks which they got right in the past.
If Mike Mayock was that damn good at evaluating talent, we would be working for a team instead of NFLN.
So far about 10 guys rated in the 6th round range on the NFL.com big board (Mayock) have been drafted.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2011/tracker#dt-tabs:dt-by-grade/dt-by-round-input:6/dt-by-team-input:sf/dt-by-grade-input:6
My point exactly.
This is hilarious actually. Only 5 guys out of 25 rated in the 6th round actually MADE IT TO THE SIXTH ROUND. So 80% of "6th round value " according to Maylock got drafted high.

Ok let's pretend your not blindly hating on Parcells, and he isn't that great, all his success is due to the assistants and coaches he hired:
like:
Bill Belichick, New England Patriots
Tom Coughlin, New York Giants
Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints
Tony Sparano, Miami Dolphins
Todd Haley, Kansas City Chiefs
Al Groh, New York Jets (2000), University of Virginia (2001–2009)
Romeo Crennel, Cleveland Browns (2005–2008)
Charlie Weis, Notre Dame (2005–2009)
Eric Mangini, Cleveland Browns (2009–2010)
Im sure all these guys were totally successful on their own and never took a page out of the Parcells draft/play book...

I'd be willing to wager that two thirds of the league would jump at the chance to hire Parcells in a GM/Football oversight role. Everywhere he's gone he has turned the team into a playoff team. Player's lose games allot easier than coaches win games in playoffs... for all the amazing gameplans coaches have put together, there has been many more plays like Romo fumbling, Hasslebeck interceptions, Farve interceptions, and dropped Asante Samuel interceptions that completely void a coaches gameplan.
Moving on now... this draft is solid.
It has the feel of the coaches really looking at tape themselves and identifying the player THEY want to coach rather than just reading off a BPA/need list like usual.

Parcells hasn't won a Super Bowl in 21 years, hasn't been to a Super Bowl in 15 years, hasn't had a team win a playoff game in 13 years and hasn't had back to back playoffs teams since the 89-90 seasons.

Doesn't mean squat in terms of filling teams with talent. Every team he's gone to in some capacity or another has went from crap to the playoffs within 3 years primarily due to the people he brought in.
Talk about hypocrisy! If he was available this summer when we were deciding on a GM.. over every other candidate available, you(the haters) can honestly tell me you wouldn't have jumped at the chance to land him? We've been trying just to get into the playoffs for how many years?

I guess you have a strange definition of talent because his teams sure haven't sustained success for very long under him.
