the case for jake locker

I was very unimpressed by Locker. For the most of the night though Nebraska's corners had the receivers covered pretty well. I felt at times when he had receivers open he tucked and ran the ball instead.Locker had 3 pass completions at halftime if I remember correctly. I am gonna stand by initial judgement of him and say I wouldn't touch him before the 3rd round. Some team is gonna overdraft Locker and take him in the first round because of his POTENTIAL. He is definitely a project not what the 49ers need.

he didnt get his 1st completion till the 3rd quarter. lol

My bad . I remember looking up at the scoreboard and having them show 3 completions on there. Must have been in the 3rd quarter then.

I would much rather draft Andy Dalton than Jake Locker at this point. At least Dalton can throw the ball but is still mobile enough to avoid the rush. IMO Alex Smith is a better passer than Locker.

When is this case going to close?

Not for a long time. There are still Colt Brennan fanboys who think hes the next great QB if just given a chance....

How exactly does Locker compare to Brennan?

Worst comparison ever. Brennan was a product of a system and had godly passing numbers.

where did he say he was comparing the two? Wost jump to conclusion ever!

How is that not the obvious conclusion to jump to? One guy asks when the case for one qb being good will end....and the response is comparing people making a case for another QB?

Can you read his mind? I can't.

Yeah, you're way off on this one. No where was I comparing the two. He asked when the case for Locker would be over, and in reference to the fact that there are still Brennan fanboys 3 years after the fact, I said probably never.

lmfao Kolohe. I agree it didn't sound like he was comparing the two.
I think the case just got stronger with Harbaugh aboard. He witnessed Locker firsthand in the Pac-10 and saw the kind of talent he is. Locker is the same type of fiery competitor that Harbaugh is. Locker at #7 is looking like a real possibility.

I think Locker didn't have much to work with. I'd take him in the first in a trade down, but if he has a good Senior Bowl and combine we might have to take him at #7.

If Harbough sees Locker as someone special, the 49ers are gonna pick him at No7.

Germans and austrians agreeing does not happen very often, but in this case, we do :)

I completely trust Harbaugh to pick up the right guy. Who could be a better evaluator ? Definitly not me ;)

Hopefully them both coming from the Pac-10, Harbaugh will stay away from Locker.

Totally this. If Harbaugh takes him, I am fine with that, because he has seen him for 3 years. And if he thinks he can develop him, then I totally have faith that Locker can succeed in Harbaughs offense.

Right on.

But I'd rather not pick Locker at #7.
