yeah that's not true at all. they said that 15 years ago...

having said that, i dont think he'd make a good wco qb

curious, what makes you say that?

He's probably saying that because it's mainly a timing system and if you have bad footwork that can mess everything up. He needs to do some speed ladder work and agility work and get himself into better conditioning. Peyton and Brady are both statues but they have mobile/quick feet, even if they don't run fast.

I agree he could use better footwork (who can't) but i think people really sell Mallett short on his pocket mobility. Also, his footwork on play action boots/rollouts are very sound.

I was about to say the same thing. I've also seen a few rushing TDs from Mallett.

That he does.

One could say "horrible speed", but I'm sure he wasn't busting a gut practicing for the forty, like some of the others. It's just not as important a measurable for the QBs IMO.

He has very nimble feet on his drop-back. It's quick and he gets the ball out fast. That arm!

I'm slowly but surely beginning to gravitate towards Mallet. To me he looks like the best of the bunch.

The character thing is WAY overblown. He comes from good stock. Sounds like a regular well balanced kid who had a normal college experience. Like normal students are supposed to. I don't care that he wasn't a friggin'saint. He's a FOOTBALL player for chrssakes! Both of his parents are educators. So he didn't kiss the a$$ of the beat writers. Personally, with some of the stupid questions that seems to pass for inciteful reporting these days, I'm surprised at the restraint he did show. I personally much prefer it to the kind of cr*p that come out of the mouths of people like Cam Newton. Frankly, my head hurts from listening to those kind of phony platitudes and scripted responses.

We probably won't get him, but I'd be over the moon if we did.

^ I watched Mallet play live 8 times, He plays fast! and on the sideline the kid doesn't get intimidated by other players. His leadership may come across as cocky! but he is a fiery competitor that is vocal and emotional. One thing you can say about him is he is a hard worker and will compete to the end.

All qualities you will find in pro-bowl QB Philip Rivers.

I can only hope Harbaugh and Baalke agree on this crop of qb's as much as we do.

He gave the game to alabama 2 picks at the end of the game... WTF was he thinking??

From your lips to God's . . . erm . . . Baalke/Harbaugh's . . . ears, bud!
I'm so curious to see what their handling of the QB situation is going to be. There are going to be opportunities to, either, do something really creative and smart or, conversely, something lame and pedestrian. They're going to need to be really sharp not to miss out IMO. So it's going to be v-e-r-y i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g .
Get me a window seat and buckle me in for the ride! This guy has the touch and pocket awareness to know when to step up. As someone said way earlier in this thread, he has the ability to place the ball where it's impossible to defend. Statue but he's a tall one. He shouldn't have a problem seeing downfield and I think that would help him on quick reads especially if somehow Chilo is still at RG next season(if?).

2.Payton manning

both make great decisions and are great under pressure mallet does neither also im sure if you look at wonderlistic scores we will see a big difference
I'm not comparing that. He just said that people with their mobility can't succeed. Obviously wrong. I didn't say anything about Mallet having their decision making skills.

I was reading that one "anonymous scout" compared him to eminem the other day. hahah.

I think charlie sheen is the better comparison, #winning.

I'll take either! They are both winners despite their life style! They accomplished their goal.
Mallett does not match the type of player Harbaugh has used at QB before. Typically, he likes athletic, smooth QB's, like Johnson and Luck.

I seriously doubt the team has much interest at all.
