i couldnt be happier. i think once people see this offense actually function, gore tear it up, alex have waaaay more time, and we rank in the upper half for offense....they'll realize how important an offensive line really is....great job bahlke and jed...i bet alex is smiling somewhere....finally..a great OL..2 year in the same system , VD,crabs,gore,morgan..lookout nfl...we're back::2(:
Very good.
Hopefully this will light a fire under Chilo´s butt.
This could mean the end of a thing we´ve been watching for too long, our QB´s having no room to step up, and Frank haveing no room in the middle.
Iupati is gonna look good in red and gold
Great pick and a great start to the draft. Ginn for a 5th and now a PB caliber guard and Tackle. What else can you ask for?

Cover saftey maybe
At first I wa a litle mad, I wanted us to trade down and pick up an extra 2nd rounder or an extra 3rd and 4th rounder and somehow find a way to trade up to pick up Kyle Wilson and either Dex Bryant or Dan Williams. I wasn't fond of having too rookies starting on the line at the same time.

But given a chance to think about it, I like it a lot more. The success rates for guards drafted in the first round is extremely high. When a guard is considered good enough by scouts to be a first rounder, the guy usually turns out to be a stud. A guard getting drafted in round 1 isn't a terribly common occurrence.

Ben Grubbs, Davin Joseph, Logan Mankins, Kendall Simmons, Steve Hutchinson, Alan Faneca, Jeff Hartings, Ruben Brown.

These are the guards drafted in the first round in the last 20 years. Quite a collection here!
This was definitely a "frustration" pick - granted its still a good pick. But you have to believe Sing has been fuming since his lack of a physical with an F oline play last year forced him to abandon his vision.

Secondly, these picks make up for McCloughan's refusal to treat the oline as more importantBy god, they (Baalke, Sing, and Jed?) were going to finally fix this problematic oline.

Losing that 4th hurts

really? losing a 4th round pick hurts? that is a littance to give up to get the guy you wanted from the beginning. especially if they valued him much higher then bulaga.

Exactly he's much more of a mauler than Bulaga. And Bulaga got eaten alive by Brandon Graham. It was worth giving up a 4th to get the guy we want.

We threw away a valuable pick for a guy that has work ethic questions

Would you have been happier if the Cowboys traded ahead of us and picked him? Regarding the work ethic questions, neither you or I know the situation. But Singletary does.

This was a good pick. Shucks at losing some training camp fodder or depth player.
Love the pick.

On a side note, seeing how nice and happy Iupati and his family were, my fiance started tearing up.
