CJ Spiller

Not taking a view on Spiller, but this one is suspect. There are no sure impact players in the draft. And, incidentally, whilst I dont have at present the link to prove it, I am fairly certain that OTs have a good conversion percentage in the first round.

SO your question is just spin.

Jed York said in a recent radio interview that he wanted more playmakers on this team. Who knows exactly what he meant? Maybe someone like CJ Spiller?

I like the way Jed York is thinking!

Great point! I will take the dynamic playmaker!

Think of it as De Sean Jackson vs Chilo Rachel... oh by the way we passed up on De Sean twice.

Now, again, who do you rather have? Who strikes fear in the heart of defenses...
Just spin?

So if we draft one top tier tackle, put him against Dwight Freeney, he will fair well?

Or have Spiller receive kicks, punts, catch and run the ball for TDs with his speed?

Hmmm that's some good spin.
Also your point on spin is lame. All the draft is spin.

The Offensive line needs to be fixed. We needed a QB in '05. We also needed pass rushers. Wasn't Ware in that draft? DAMN THAT SPIN IS STRONG!!!

Draft a tackle, fill one hole.

Draft Spiller, fill 3.

I welcome all arguments.

Jacoby Ford has experience at RB, WR, and KR/PR duties. He also fills "3" technically.

So I don't think that argument is fully valid. Plus, an OT has potential to pay OG or TE in certain situations.
You saying A tackle can play Tight End Validates my point. My point is realistic, however. Spiller is a much better prospect.

And I fail to see how its not valid when we have Crabtree and Morgan( and technically Davis, pass catcher) and just one legit Back.

I like Ford. Don't mistake my hope in getting Spiller for douchery. I just think Spiller is DeSean Jackson v 2.0.

When Spiller runs a 4.28 at the combine everyone will be salivating at the chance to pick him.
I would LOVE to have Spiller....

but knowing McCloughn and his ego...he'll probably pass up Spiller twice considering we drafted Glenn Coffee....I doubt McCloughn will swallow his pride and let his 3rd round pick Glenn Coffee go to waste....

my point is..since McCloughn draft Coffee this year already, I doubt he'll pick another RB.
Spiller/Iupati... my dream first round...

I actually think that McCloughan's philosophy is BPA. We had obvious needs at offensive line this year and were actually targeting Oher when Crabtree slipped to us. If we were drafting based on BOOB (Best On Our Board) instead of BPA (Best Player Available) we would've passed on Crabtree and taken Oher instead.

reggie bush, eric berry, and iupati is my dream offseason
It seems likely he will be gone by the time we pick. We are picking worse than I thought we would with both picks (ours and Carolinas). Plus people see the impact of Chris Johnson. And I think Spiller will run well at the combine.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he goes in the top 10. I don't think we will get him. But I would like to get him if we can.
