IMO, C.J Spiller is the best player in the draft. I think he can single handedly win a team an extra 2-4 games a rookie with his dynamic running ability as a RB, receiver, KR and PR. I look at him as a Chris Johnson/Percy Harvin type player.

Great post & I agree with you. All anyone has to do is watch one of his games this season. He is the most explosive & best play-making guy from anywhere on the field. Run it, catch it, throw it or return it from anywhere on the field, he does it!

If he was on a more mainstream team like USC or Notre Dame and still putting up the same numbers or even better due to a better o-line, he would be getting the same kind of hype that Reggie Bush got.
I'd take CJ with our first pick.

Are you for real? 2-4 extra games as a rookie not even starting?

Well, field position does mean a lot.

Now, CJ Spiller is a great player and all, but what about the team structure of adding Spiller with a 1st round pick?
Now, we've seen in the past that Gore does get defensive if we want to add on to the RB core. If we're planning to lower Gore's amount of PT and/or replace him, then sign Spiller. If not, I wouldn't risk making our best offensive player pissed.
Also, yes he offers to be a great KR and would be awesome as a spread rb, but I don't see us keeping the offense and will most likely try to revert back to the run-strong offense. I'd rather pick up a CB who can also play KR (Haden, Arenas, Thomas, etc.).

Oh hell no. THat works when you win but when you can't beat good teams with it then that s**t's unwatchable. Gore isn't even our best offensive player, it's Vernon IMO.

Agree. Gore is a great player & I love watching him play. I do think this offense is moving in a different direction & if we take a RB like Spiller this will also help extend Gore's career with the 49ers.

I almost want Spiller just so I never have to see Brandon Jones or Arnaz Battle field a kick ever again. He'd flip the field for us so much that his offensive contributions would almost be gravy.

Gore needs to stop being a baby about that s**t.
