1st Round Pick (7th and FINAL Poll, No Trades)

1st Round Pick (7th and FINAL Poll, No Trades)

If all options are on the board, I think you have to go BPA, and that's Nelson, whom I voted for.

I'm pretty sure he'll be gone tho, so to me that narrows it down to James, Smith, and Landry. Wouldn't be mad with any of the picks, but I have a crush on James, am not as high on Landry, and like the depth at LB in mid rounds.

I don't think Nelson will be the pick, even if he's on the board. I don't see a great scheme fit, and for a guard in the top 10, that seems like a total reach (G in general, but also not a fit either).

I still think it comes down to Landry / Davenport with the outside possibility of a small trade up for Chubb.

This will be the first year in a while that none of us have any idea
Not a good sign for the guys who haven't met with the team in any capacity.

I guess a WR would be a better fit at guard because he can run faster? lol Watch the film, QN fits any scheme.

I think it also says a lot that the Niners haven't met with him (at least not that's been reported).

Do those visits really matter? Solomon Thomas and Myles Garrett didn't visit either and they were the first 2 names on our draft board. Visits are only helping KS and JL answer questions.

Lynch already had previous knowledge on Thomas from Stanford

What about the guy that was #1 on their board? No visits were probably needed because they had no questions. Shiiid of the list below, the only guy messing up off the field is the only guy that got a visit.

Niners board was
1) Garrett
2) Solo
3) Foster

????

In fact, 49ers met with Myles Garrett multiple times. John Lynch himself was at his pro day.

Whoever was in charge of that visit tracker didn't do a good job. We're on top of s**t over here. So yes, visits/meetings/contact absolutely matter.

No visit was made. They just asked questions at the pro day. Kyle's more of a film guy. Of his offensive picks, he only met with Kittle. Taylor, Williams, and even his handpicked Beathard never had an official visit. Visits is just part of the due diligence.

They still met with him, which is the point.

They met with all of their day 1 and day 2 picks in some form. Kyle and John said the only reason they didn't meet with Beathard was to avoid unwanted attention.

Which seems like a common practice in the mid-rounds, but in the top half of the first, these players are picked through with a fine tooth comb.
BTW, Kyle confirmed that his QB coach Rich Scangarello met with CJ at the combine. They just didn't bring him in for a private visit.

That's all day one and day two players accounted for in some capacity.
