Trade targets

At this point, we need to trade, but not for a band-aid to help with our depleted positions. Especially since so many of the injured players are slated to return at various points. We need to make a trade for a genuine difference maker that can help us build on this excellent start to go on a championship run. At the very minimum it has to be an Emmanuel Sanders type of trade, at best a CMC/Trent Williams one. Go all in, mortgage the future, but do it for a genuine addition. We have an aging core, let's try to genuinely go for it while they're still playing well. But only do that if you get in real help.

This would probably need to be a skill position guy, or a genuine pass rush reinforcement. Someone who will genuinely help, even if Bosa and all the injured receivers come back and stay healthy. Someone mentioned getting a replacement for Colby, but I don't think that mid-season an offensive lineman can genuinely help as much as a receiver who can get open/win jump balls, or a pass-rusher who will win his one-on-ones or command double teams most of the time. The OL needs time to gel. The time to get reinforecements there is in the offseason.

Of the names bandied around, McLaurin is an obvious "Sanders"-like trade, but I don't think Washington will trade pieces until they're genuinely out of the race for their dreadful division. Basically we not only need to beat them next week, but also root for the other two NFC East (nobody should ever root for Dallas, for whatever reason, ever, ever, EVER) to win and thus condemn Washington to punting on the season before the trade deadline. Though I don't think that they, or anyone, would ever want Aiyuk in their team - the guy is genuinely toxic. Who wants such a headache?

I wonder if Washington would be willing to trade away McLauren and how much it would cost us…

Aiyuk and a 1st round pick.

Agreed. Khalil Mack or Will MacDonald IV & Brian Thomas Jr 🤔

Will MacDonald IV & Brian Thomas Jr and were my two picks also to trade for.
Thinking now about McLauren possibly at WR
I'd really like Garret Wilson from the Jets.
I know nothing about his being a fit in 49ers culture but he'd be an asset.

Oh for sure but he'll most likely cost what the Broncos paid for Waddle. If not more. I just don't see Lynch doing it judging by his Track record.

Garrett is the only WR I would want to trade for but he would cost too damn much to get. He would fit the culture and be an elite WR here
No trade. A 4th rounder for a good half season rental is all I'd go for. Someone suggested a game breaking pass rusher to bring out the best in QB Purdy for the next 10 years. That player will have to be drafted top 5-10, not developed. There is something to be said for spending top draft picks on defense and spending money on veterans for offense.
Over-the-cap. We got $41 million now. $31 million in the hole for next year. Lets not gamble on an outsider coming in to save us in return for big money. Any relief when Aiyuk is gone will have to be used wisely. Let other teams gamble away their money.
The sad thing is that Aiyuk is the exact type of player we could use the most right now… if only he didn't go bats**t…

Maybe we can get Quentin Johnston along with Khalil Mack or maybe get Calvin Ridley for cheap he's familiar with shannys offense

Quentin Johnston has been limited the past couple of weeks. Might want to wait for trade deadline for him.

WR's I'm looking at Jerry Jeudy, Xavier Hutchinson and Luke McCaffery. I would also love it if they could get Ladd McConkey.
Heard on a pod cast the Cardinals final straw with MHJ was he requested they get a seeker jugs machine (50,000) and they were too cheap to buy something that could help their high draft pick try and get better.

I believe it was the other way around, MHJ got upset he was denied and the relationship slowly soured
I'm all for going all in this year.

Chargets arent trading Ladd and you have to be crazt to want QJ he is awful - he may have one of the worst hands in the league

Yah Johnston would be my last choice and besides he's dealing with injuries right now. If we wanted a quick fix OBJ is on the street?
