Other teams would kill to have those playmakers and talent. We just need some pieces in FA (DT, DE, 3rd cb) and 2-3 starters or contributors from the draft.

We have Saleh and a new ST coordinator which will win us a few games alone AND the EASIEST schedule in the NFL.

Top to bottom we do not have a top 5 roster just calling it how I see it.

We are #21 per NFL.com before we lost all of these FA's

Nobody said it wasn't going to happen; you gotta pay the piper at some point and can't keep kicking the can down the road. Point was that the dead cap hell we are in to begin with is/was the result of stupid decisions, unless of course you believe that teams enjoy paying players no longer on the team and that's all a part of the plan?

Is what it is. I can have my thoughts on it and so can you.

Yea man, I'm happy to agree to disagree, this is just my distraction while doing cardio lol.

I don't feel the need to elaborate on bad results, because well, the team went 6-11 during their "last dance " year .

But as for the bold, the dead cap is there because we enjoyed paying players to play on our team. That's why we gave them the money, to keep them on our team. We kicked the can down the road so that we could keep more players on the team, as well as pursue other players in FA. Maybe you would have been happy with the alternative, but I can guarantee you the majority of fans would have been more upset if the year after making the NFC championship or the year after going to OT in the superbowl, the team started letting go players and sitting on their hands in FA because of a lack of cap space. To keep their players, and to bring more players in, they HAD to kick the dead cap into void years, there was no other option. It quite literally WAS the plan.
The team is looking to reset the cap. They're going to roll as much unused space into 2026 as possible. They are banking on last year's, this years, and next years draft to make up the foundation to the next era, and will come loaded with cap space 2026 and beyond. The team isn't tanking, but I think talk of shanny being too emotionally attached to players was more a reflection about needing to be more realistic about just how close or far this team actually is from competing for a superbowl

I believe the team doesn't think that's in the cards this year, and fans should adjust expectations accordingly. They didn't overpay for actual contributors, and so they're definitely not gonna overspend on fringe starters and old has beens, even if they do technically upgrade the roster around the margins. Priority is to
1. Accumulate as many draft picks as possible
2. Hit on as many draft picks as possible
3. Roll over as much unused cap space into future years as possible
4. Maintain enough veterans to maintain the shanny culture and try to expedite the rebuild process

Perhaps, can't blame them for going bargain hunting and maybe they have another guy in the sights, it's still early in offseason

Thanks for posting those stats Pillage . I was curious what his 40 was so he's pretty quick. We finally have a free safety that can cover if we get Thornhill.

Hopefully Thorny's calves hold up

He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury while playing us last season. Worth looking at but he might be done.

They're talking about him retiring. It's gonna be Matt Hennessy if and when they better cut Brendel. Why the f**k is he still on the roster.

Okay; so the circle jerk continues and it's back to my original post of the dead cap hit being a failure and the result of stupid decisions that you asked me to elaborate on lol.

If this was quite literally their plan as you mentioned; that ended in bad results as you mentioned, was it successful? Or AGAIN, bad results is different than failure for you?

Maybe just maybe "enjoyed paying players to play on our team" was the recipe for this disaster. Shannys more friendly relationship than coach with Deebo blinded him to look past the obvious on film or the childish antics to reward him with a new contract vice set precedent with Aiyuk following suit and getting rewarded all the same. Because they enjoyed paying the players maybe too much?

Giving CMC an extension for what? Just because he didn't have any guaranteed money left; yeah sure here you go lol. Trent? There was no other option; whose fault is that?

What isn't debatable is that we are in dead cap hell with no SB to show for it. You can call that bad results and I can call it failure because of stupid decisions.

Who cares what NFL.com says haha. We still have a top 5 to 10 (being generous bc I believe we are a lot closer to top 5) roster in the NFL easily. According to NFL last year the Eagles were declining majorly so do you wanna keep going along with people that are uneducated about football? Or realize the talented teams usually win the most games?

we are still favored to win our division so maybe you should just think about that

My boy guap is the David Lombardi of our webzone lol. The forever optimist who sees good in everything. You do you guap! I also think we can still win our division (need a good drat though) and make the playoffs with the weak schedule 🤙🏾

Excellent post! I do disagree with one thing though; Shannys relationship with Deebo is well documented. Hell even Lynch is on record stating how close of a relationship he has with Deebo. I personally think that you have to be naive to believe that their emotional attachment to him dating back to the Senior bowl hasn't influenced their decisions with him. Have you read Deebos "farewell" article? That isn't just a coach/player relationship.

I also don't know of any other head coaches going on vacations with their players in the offseason and throwing parties with them at their house. Although admittedly and obviously; I don't follow any other team nearly as much as I do the Niners.

My man!! It helps that the both of us are often right especially with identifying which draft picks are going to be good if you know what I mean!!!

I think we can hit on 2 starters in the draft and 2 contributors which is a fair estimate. If you couple that with
Pearsall
Green
Puni
Mustafa
all good starters so far

not to mention Anderson we are good to go! Younger and cheaper!
David Andrews just became available sign him up STAT, he's still a hell of a lot better than Brendel, even at age 40 or whatever the hell it is
