I think Levi's market isn't that great. He's been banged up a lot. PFF has him at 2yrs $20M spotrac has him less than that.

Samuel is probably a pipe dream. PFF has him at 3 yrs $40M.

I think the Mostert interest is just in case another team decides to give up a 2nd to sign Mason.

Turning a new leaf if you will.

Prioritization of youth and cost management over winning (this year) in my estimation

Right approach or wrong, time will tell. But we absolutely could have afforded Dre Greenlaw, DJ Reed, Jonathan Allen, Drew Dalman, and combined with a great draft (which we need regardless), absolutely would be favorites for the NFC championship game.

Like I said, personally, I'm recalibrating expectations, and with a more realistic outlook as to where exactly our team is in the process of roster construction, the departures, and more importantly the lack of replacements, are easier to digest.

I wouldn't be mad at someone giving up a 2nd for Mason this year then use a pick on a RB, good draft for RBs and good ones always fall but we wind up taking the wrong one lol

The thing is to, is that there are really only a handful of free agents I would've paid the big bucks to do I understand, and all that we lost was expected honestly, except for Greenlaw, but we definitely have some patch work to do and hope we hit on the draft to compete

Parsons is a loser, always will be, "no more rookie QB lol welcome to reality" that's the best he can come up with? As if Purdy's looming contract is the only reason for what appears to be a rebuild. I'm sure it has nothing to do with 10 starters or semi-starters leaving. Guy has a $10 million body and a $.10 head. Someone should tell him the Cowboys have been in rebuilding mode for the last 30 years.

I don't think he was saying anything bad about the team. He's just saying that's the reality of paying your franchise QB who's not on a rookie deal anymore.

They weren't trying to save money when they signed Hargrave, they were all in (short-term) with these guys who were all on their way out very soon. That's the point. NOW that time has come.

my point with Brock is this is now his team, he's not some $900K last pick in the draft QB, who just hands the ball off and throws passes to one of 4 elite play makers….he's gonna have the largest contract in team history. He's gotta lead the team and make s**t work with younger less experienced players….clearly that pertains to FA because he's gonna cost a lot of money (real cash). Hows does this any of this not make sense to you?

Regardless if it's Brock Purdy or another QB from the draft. Sooner or later the 49ers will have to give $200 million dollar contract to a QB. We all know this, and the 49ers will have factored all this into future cap space too. You the 49ers arw just doing things on the fly.
