G- Ben Bartch

CB- Isaac Yiadom
WR- Chris Conley

Free agent signings

DE- Dayo Odeyingbo (5 years, 66 mil. 1 void year)
C- Drew Dalman (5 years, 48 mil. 1 void year)
CB- Paulson Adebo (3 years, 40 mil)
FS- Andre Cisco (3 years, 21 mil)
TE- Tommy Tremble (3 years, 12 mil)
LB- Shaq Thompson (1 year, 5 mil)
DT- Calais Campbell (1 year, 4.5 mil)

Dalman, Adebo and Campbell are on my wish list too
wouldn't be mad at the others, but highly doubt we can afford Dayo, his market will be hot

Campbell was PFF's 7th overall interior DL last year with a cap hit a little over 3m
that's the type of contract we need haha, especially on DL
been a fan of CC's since he slipped in the draft in '08

no thanks to re-signing Yiadom, saw enough of him last year, don't care if he's good on STs

A 39yo DT?

Apparently you're not familiar with old man strength. Also he wouldn't be every down player.

We could do a lot worse than Yiadom as a 5th CB

Yes. He was ranked as the leagues best DT vs the run and the 7th best DT last year. He's still a dominant force on the inside.

52 tackles, 5 sacks, 12 TFL, 5 PD

He would be a MASSIVE addition.

if it's a very cheap 1 year deal

Who cares how much the deal is?

He played last year for 2 mil so you wouldn't offer him 4 mil to shore up our run D for a year until the rookies are ready so we can make a run for a home SB appearance?

He was still one of the best interior linemen in the league last year.

2m sounds good.. The odds are against him to keep it up

instead of 4m, i would sign him for 2m and use that extra two to help get someone else
I think between the draft and the number of FAs to come we'll be much better on defense. Some familiar names out there that have played well enough (not great, sign 'em cheap) for us in the past. Bring 'em back.
DL depth/rotation possibilities:
DJ Jones
Chase Young
Omenihu
Clelin Ferrell

you could Kinlaw to the list, he had his best year last year (with Saleh), still only 27 yo
and we already invested a top 15 pick in him
and Bosa mentioned bringing him back in an interview at the Pro-Bowl

not sure what his market would be like, but if it's for a few mil, wouldn't be bad rotational piece with familiarity
If you believe Kawakami's report, it doesn't sound like the 49ers will be too active in free agency. It sounds like Yorks aren't very pleased with the big amount of dead money and the big contracts they've given out. Don't expect much outside of a few small, short signings.

I still think we are going to be players in free agency. This regime has always filled all the roster holes before the drafts. And with loads of cap space, the SB in our stadium, a very weak schedule and some players coming back from injury I don't think there's any way we stand pat in free agency.

Dalman has history here and would be a huge upgrade over Brendel.

Dayo Odeyingbo is a problem on the edge. At 6'6, 290 and good movement skills he can play the Armstead role. Set the edge in base D and then kick inside on passing downs.

Re-sign Bartch to compete with Burford and Zakelj at LG and then draft a rookie.

Then if Calais Campbell wants to play another year bring him in. He was dominant last year. There has been no indication he will retire.

If Greenlaw leaves LB Shaq Thompson is a fit. This draft is deep with linebackers but we could use a vet for a year beside Warner. Thompson is coming off a knee injury but was still having a great year. If healthy he should come cheap and fill a need. Jamien Sherwood is a perfect fit too but I don't think he comes cheap.

There are a bunch of TE's who are available too. Tommy Tremble would be a great signing. We missed having a legit blocking TE last year.

Then go get Andre Sisco and Paulson Adebo for the secondary and we are set

Restructure Warner and Kittle

I like where you are going with this. I doubt we make that big of a splash but i do think we need to address everyone of our needs in free agency and then truly do BPA in the draft. That could really give us room to move around in the draft as needed and not have to pray so and so player drops to us in a certain spot.
I was listening to the draft dudes podcast yesterday and they brought up a statistic (chart) that shows offensive lineman get better every single year all the way up to age 30-31 and then the line starts to dip down. Most all positions probably peak around age 26-27 and then the dip starts but not OL.

Kinda makes sense to go find guards, tackles & centers in free agency that are 28-29 years old and let them start for 3 years. Rinse and repeat. 49ers done that in the past with a couple guys and we are currently seeing it with McKivitz. He was pretty bad in 2023 and then was ok last year. 2025 he might be halfway decent!!!

This is definitely what I've observed as well. I've always wondered how much this has to do with actual talent development and improvement versus physical maturation and spending years in an NFL weight room. Probably a combination of both.

Also OL being way more mental and technique orientated as a whole unit helps with the over 30 lack of decline.
It is a lot like QB, all the practice reps snd 1v1s matter little if you can't get comfortable seeing what you have to do.
Then right as you do, the guy next to you is on that curve.

He just said last week that he's heard this is an all in offseason from the top and he expects a big swing, in regards to a trade for a big ER. TBH there aren't any FAs out there if she'll out big bucks for anyways

Yeah I was thinking the same… Kawakami contradicting himself isn't really anything new though…
