I would like to see us go after him next year.

Umm yeah, not happening, we don't have the money to spend on a WR, plus he'll get tagged again, and is this on top of trading for Julio?

No Julio. Jimmy will be gone and the salary cap will increase by a solid amount. Godwin is a legit anchor QB security blanket.

Uh even with no Jimmy the cap room will be less than $20M, plus we have FAs we need to bring back, the $20M is before a Warner extension, plus we have to worry about Bosa, Aiyuk, Deebo, Dre, Kinlaw, etc.. down the line.

Oh god, please no, I'm trying my best to ignore him.

Fine! Find me a do it all game changing WR dammit!!

Yeah we should get someone like this guy...

Close but not him. Aiyuk is
  • 1" shorter
  • at least 5 pounds lighter
  • tested 1 tenth a second slower

Godwin, physically appears much bigger/thicker. But yes, in terms of Aiyuk seeming to be an all around solid above average player, they are similar.

I think he's gonna break out and be a star this season.

So will Godwin. Saw a lot of TB games and Brady was definitely looking for him but Godwin's finger and some other health things kept them from getting on point.

Godwin has already broken out and proven himself. Gronk, AB and Miller ate into his targets last year or else he would have been over 1k again. Evans production was also down a little last year.

Tom is going to continue spreading the ball around. I think if anyone's production jumps in that bunch, it will be Mike Evans with another year of chemistry with Brady. I think Antonio Brown will dig into Godwin's target share more than Evans. When Godwin is a free agent next year, unless he has a major injury, will probably get the top wide receiver contract on the market.

Yep and that will be out of our price range. Luckily we have 2 guys we can continue to develop in Deebo and Aiyuk.

I don't know about that. Godwin is good anywhere on the field, especially in Tom's favorite areas. He had 7 targets per game, most on the team and missed 4 games along with not performing well in some due to that broken finger. Him and Brady never really had a chance to get into a groove.

Godwin gonna have Edelman/Welker type numbers 2021. Godwin is just as good a safety blanket as those two but with more overall ability.
