Was on SF before. Worth bringing back?

I don't think so. Would have to be for min.

a lot teams are over the cap, so some players will need to take pay cuts if they want to be on a decent team. So it's possible

Played in only 52% of the offense snaps last year.

Didnt mention why. Not much out on him yet.

Shoot if thats the case, he could be cheap and a final cut if he doesn't add value.

This is the beginning, no rush to get him

Gotcha. Wonder what he would be looking for on the open market

Probably not much. Hurt most of last year. Didn't have nearly the season as 2 years ago.

Was 16 mil last season. No way he gets that this season.

He's more in the d-Ford role correct? I get him and the other smith mixed up in GB

Even if he was he'd probably cost more than we're willing to pay for a guard.

Sanders definitely the next to go and Kwon is probably only being kept around while he heels that injury.

Saints getting a parting gift from Brees, doing some serious culling, and still well over the cap.

Easton is primarily a center. Made $6 million last year for 52%of snaps. Bet he will be looking for a one year prove it deal to get his snaps up and get paid in 2022. I wouldn't go after him, Mack will be a little higher $ but is a better player and more reliable. Also knows the system.

As for the p Smith question. My Packers friends tell me he spent a lot of time on the line, z Smith is the linebacker on the same side. Hence the "Smith brothers" thing.

Preston Smith is a SAM, he's not an edge. Signing would be a waste of money if you're looking for a complementary DE to Bosa.

He's 100% an edge. A SAM LB in our scheme is a stack LB. Preston is 270 lbs. Dude is bigger than Bosa. He played in a 4-downmen DL in college. We need to stop overthinking edge players. If they can rush the QB, yes, we need them.
