Potential Cap Casualties (2021)

I don't see other discussion for this collected in a single thread anywhere, so lets put it here. I expect there to be a lot this year with the lowered cap.

Good resource here.

J.J. Watt looks like a prime candidate.

Texans are 13 million over the cap right now and JJ saves 17 with one year left on his deal.
This is going to be a wild offseason. There are going to be a ton of good players available.
Before the SB the Chiefs fans were talking about Fisher as a potential cap casualty. They've probably done a 180 on that now.

There's going to be a lot of teams moving pieces. There's also going to be a few players who could be had for good value.

Expecting teams to throw some late round draft picks around as well to avoid competing and acquire some players who are likely to get cut anyway, especially those with deals that become reasonably favourable for the acquiring team after a trade.

Broncos cut AJ Bouye, I don't know how he's been doing for them though apparently not great—might be worthwhile at the right price if we lose KWaun and/or Verrett ?
Jason Kelce come on down!!

Or Mack. I think Mack has been less injured
14 teams are over the cap. Lots of good players will be let go before roster bonus is mandatory. Should be interesting. If Jimmy G is to be traded, hope it happens soon before value goes wayyyy down.

Alex Mack is already a 49er, his jersey is being made and will be done in March.

He's been injured a lot with Denver.

i haven't seen his injury history with Den, but i did see that he has to finsih part of his suspension in 2021
According to this chart, cutting Ford and Richburg post June 1st will save an additional $23 million. That should be enough to go after 2-3 mid leave players that have been cut. 1-2 yr incentive based deals should help.

Broncos released CB A.J. Bouye.

Owed $13 million in the final year of his deal for 2021, the Broncos now clear over $13.2 million in cap space with the move. In his only season with Denver, Bouye appeared in just seven games due to a shoulder injury, concussion, and six-game suspension, which he still has two games left to serve at the start of next year. Bouye will be 30 years old ahead of next season.
