Says 49ers will keep Jimmy G, bring in Darnold on the cheap, let him learn the system, see where it goes. Stafford is going to the Patriots. Will go after blue chip tight end.

I rather use that 3rd rounder for a center and a guard. I bet this team can get pretty good players at C and G with a 3rd rounder.

What a terrible plan if true. If you're going to keep Jimmy, use your draft picks to make the team around him better.
Either go all-in with Jimmy or go all-in to get a stud QB that you think will be better than Jimmy one day. None of this half-baked crap.

He didn't report any of this as things he's hearing. He simply thinks KS would make Darnold a much better qb.

It sounds good, Belichick is nearing 70 and he is not into a 5 year plan. Darnold is not a lost cause, he's never been coached in the pros. His mobility would be a plus under Shanahan. The question is would the 49ers keep Jimmy G or get more draft capital with his departure. There are enough pieces in place that Shanahan could pull it off with Darnold.
