This. My guess would be that the incident with Clark was just the final straw of a whole lot of BS that they've been putting up with from him.

No way, Ward needs to stay at FS where he was really good in 2019, Earl is past his prime, he missed on tackles 14% of the time, Ward only 4% of the time.

They restructured Tyron Smith's deal, and released Gerald McCoy via an injury waiver, that's how they cleared cap room. We only have about $8M, but we still have to take into account the PS and the rest of the active roster, when factoring those in, plus per game roster bonuses we need to pay back, we're way up against the cap for 2020. Only hope to getting more room is by redoing Garoppolo and/or Ford's deals, saves a combined $28.504M, or extend someone like Sherman, Tartt, or Juice, lower their base salary, convert the money into bonus, and save a few million each. Other than that, it's not likely, I don't even know why Rap would even mention the 49ers, we're fine with Ward and Moore at FS, Tartt at SS. I'd rather have Moore play in the nickel than an old Thomas. This isn't 5 years ago, or the LOB Thomas, he's not the same player he used to be. The one big play I saw from him in 2019 was him giving up on a potential tackle on a TD. Had no hustle.

Thomas is 31 and was a probowler last year....Ward is 29 and he sure wasn't a probowler last year.

If the Ravens, with one of the most solid franchises in the league, with lots of veteran leadership on the team along with a coach that has a reputation for being fair yet firm with players, decides they don't want Thomas' attitude on their team, then I don't even go close to him.

49ers are not getting Thomas. Why the hope?? 49ers already have Cyprien. Trust me I would love to have Thomas, but its just not happening right now.

Really though, this is because he got into a fight with another Safety?? So nothing could be resolved, they're just gonna trade or release him?? There's gotta be more to it, players get into fights and arguments all the time??

Especially with the reports now that player leadership supported a trade or release.
