I still think the guys a play maker but we're not getting him. Dallas isn't that great of a team, especially their secondary however this will help. I'd much rather him be on the Cowboys then us playing Baltimore in the Sb with ET.

They voided his contract, so we can afford him.

I see that they released him but do you really think he's going to accept a low amount of cash? I think he's going to get 8-10 mil so we would still have to cut a player or trade a player or restructure a contract or two.

Based on what I'm hearing this was building, and according to NFL Network some vets on the team went to the coaches stating that they didn't want him. The fight was but the final straw. So the way I see it, he's not in a position to command top dollar. He'll have no choice but to accept a team friendly deal, especially from a SB ready team like the 49ers.

And since when is a cut or trade out of the question in the NFL? Teams are ALWAYS willing to cut, trade, and restructure contracts to make the team better. He's very familiar our DC and played a number of years with Sherman. The defense in Baltimore was far more complicated than it is in SF. I see no reason we couldn't move some furniture around to make room for Thomas, on the cheap too.

I was wondering the same thing, there are fights every year in training camp but on NFL Network they were talking about him being late to meetings and his past couple years getting into trouble, probably just tired of his s**t.

Trust me I want him like I wanted him last year. I never said the team wouldn't cut or trade a player to make room for him. I just think we are really happy with our team for the most part but I would love an upgrade at the safety position. It would be nice to get an interception from a safety
I don't want some f**ker that sucked his brothers own dick in a three way. No way do we need these antics in this locker room

If that's the case no way in hell should the front office even look his way, Baltimore has one of the top front offices as well and if they don't want him that's a sign add the fact the players on the team which aren't slouches want his ass out too.
how do the cowboys have enough money for him but we dont???? They are full of overpaid guys and bad contracts all throughout that team

Oh, I know Shanny & Co. are pretty happy with what we have on defense. But but we can use an upgrade at the safety position. Because Thomas can play both the free and strong safety positions I say find a trade partner for Tartt and leave Ward be. And we could do do so with minimal cap damage:

https://overthecap.com/player/jaquiski-tartt/3894/

Tartt will be an UFA in 2021, and we have good young talent being groomed. Thomas would be a great one year rental, and we're in great position to do it too. Thomas and Ward as the safety's, and Sherman shutting down half of the field with our passrush teams are gonna have seriously hard times executing their game plan and scoring points. We really should not miss this opportunity.

Just saying
One way we can make money for him is to cut tartt... Thomas is taking his place anyway and its his last year so you can take his entire salary and add it to Thomas.. that takes the sting off a little ... but I think he's going to the cowboys... how the cowboys have enough money for him but we don't I don't understand

Thomas isn't coming here imo. According to AB we have like $1M in cap space lol.

He's not playing for free and we already have a solid S group.
vet min, win the Superb owl, and let him walk

I think he recorded practice regarding his side of his story and posted it to his IG, which was deleted soon after.
