Eh, i dont think much of it. I think they may just be going for safety depth and going away from LB depth.

Nah
I am curious why all the safeties are being brought in.
Pretty obvious isn't it? Not like we have a lot of depth at safety and Harris is fkn subpar at best.
I think having backup safeties like Moore and Harris is pretty nice.

Hmm...gotta disagree with you on Moore. He had a few missteps with bad angles, but one of his best attribute is his closing speed, always being around the ball in the pass game and ability to play centerfield, as lily as he cleans up those angles. His big issue was tackling runners, I think he will be the future FS.
This is spot on. He's got an excellent nose for the ball and tremendous speed and range. In fact, that's WHY he'll take a bad angle at times...over pursues. And Harris has made big strides. Crocker loves him and it sounds like he's playing well in practice too.
This is the most likely reason.
We did a scheme month episode on the Tite front for last year's scheme month and discussed this very thing. https://t.co/tzvAtVzsx6 https://t.co/NygZTYDEkq

Someone bout to be traded!!

I really hope not. The only ones ti can think of is Ward and Tartt. I think that would be a mistake.

If not a 3-3-5 maybe more dime package (4-1-6) looks.

You know, I was having a conversation with I guy I coach with and we both suspected that it seems like the 49ers will are gonna deploy a 3-3-5. This means that we're likely gonna carry only 9 on the D-line instead of the 10 I initially predicted. In a 3-3-5 I think Law and Alexander will be replaced by Al-Shaair and Williams, and a D-lineman replaced by Harris or Cyprien to lurk the middle of the field. If Ford, AA, and Bosa (or AA, Kinlaw, and Bosa) can generate any kind of passrush, or at least push the pocket, in the 3-3-5 this defense will be just impossible to handle.

Saleh should be fired on the spot if he did that.

Harris
Let's revisit this at the EOY. I know he's young, learning new roles and schemes, but I just don't think he's that flash in the pan they expected. I think Harris has the best instincts of the two. Moore is more athletic indeed.
Yes he had a pick in the SB and it was pretty much the ol tip drill, being in the right place at the right time. Didn't do anything spectacular. That lovely PI on 3&10 in the SB was just fantastic. Lol really helped there
He also had a huge 3rd down PBU that showed his closing speed. Guy is always around the ball. 2 major plays, one of which should have been the closer, in the SB

The strength of this defense is the DL and a 3-3-5 removes one. The team is committed to keep things simple when it comes to the fronts they use, and they have adopted the wide9. Can they run a 3-3-5 on occasion? Maybe but I don't think I saw it last season, and I am fairly confident that they will not use it as any kind of change up to their defense. The part of your post I disagreed with is removing Greenlaw or Kwon for Al-Shaair. Why would he remove one of his better LBs (Kwon/Greenlaw) for a worse LB (Al-Shaair)? If Saleh wants more pass coverage he will put in a third safety and remove a LB, not remove a DL. The 49ers are a 4 man front team. I guess we'll see but I'd be very surprised if Saleh did this.

That's what I'm talking about - on occasion, not as a go-to adjustment. And I don't think we ran it at all last season. If we run a 3-3-5 (again on occasion) a DL will have to come off the field, unless you drop one in coverage, which defeats the coverage purpose. My thinking for taking out Greenlaw or Alexander for Williams, along with the S in the middle (big nickle) was to have better guys in coverage with speed.
But I do agree about the 4 man front commitment. In no way am I saying that a 3-3-5 is going to be our go-to adjustment. I, too, will be shocked if Saleh did it, at least for teams other than air-raid teams. But if he did (occasionally) I think it might look like that. That's all I was saying.
