Byron Jones is a FA and since Dak and Amari are also FAs - it's possible they may have to let him walk. Played great all season and was one of best in NFC.
He'll be expensive but imo he's completely worth it.

No way they can afford him. No money this year.

Not entirely true. They have 21M in cap space and can easily create more by restructuring some deals - ie. Jimmy G, McKinnon, Dee Ford and Staley.
Releasing Goodwin will save them 4M as well.
May have to let Ward walk if we can get Byron but that'll be ok. I'm hesitant to give long term deal to Ward anyway.

Would much rather that money goes to retaining AA, Sanders and Ward than overpaying for an above average CB who is just a more well known name than Moseley.

If we cut some players and restructure some contracts how much more cap space could we have so we can give Buckner and kittle extensions and keep armstead?

Byron Jones is a very good CB. I don't think the Niners have the money to pay 14-16 million dollar corner. We need to sign AA and keep the core together. B Jones is a nice fit for sure.

Richburg already re-structured as well, saving us an additional $4M... (unless it was already counted in the $21M)

Would love to have him, but there is a few other guys in FA this year that would help us the same, and come a lil cheaper. Albeit if theyre gonna go this route at CB (via FA).

49ers won't be signing any top free agents, except their own.

This. I expect them to bring in some cheap, lower tier FA's to round out the roster but with so many guys needing new deals over the next two years, I don't envision any big contracts being handed out to outside free agents.

Yup. I'm expecting focus to purely be inward and any FA's we go after will either be vets who are less interested in $$$ and want one last SB push or guys who Shanny likes that just haven't worked out on their teams and need a change of team/system such as When we got Tomlinson.
Paying a premium for middle talent or top dollar for outside top talent just doesn't seem likely.

We can't afford to just add him as another corner replacing Moseley. We have to look at bringing someone in to replace Sherman in the future. Others are ready to throw him under the bus now as being washed up. You don't get young good CB's hitting the market often. Shanny said they will always look to improve any position. Would we consider ditching Sherman and using his salary to get Jones? It will be tough to ever move on from him with his leadership role and what he brings to the youngsters though. I'd still try to get another CB in the draft also.

Great CB no doubt but I don't think we have the money for him.

This makes the most sense.
