Trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick?

Trade for Minkah Fitzpatrick?

Raiders were taking him with the very next pick

Allegedly. Just like Seattle was allegedly taking Garnett when we selected him.

Regardless, my point still stands: take the player with less risk of being a bust in a position of need.

you're high if you think McG was gonna be available in the 2nd...

There is no chance mcg would have made it to the 2nd round lol
But picking him at #9 was a reach. Regardless, I understand the need. That being said, it still doesn't change the fact that I'd rather use a mid to late first round pick on a proven player on a rookie contract like Fitzpatrick than to gamble on an unknown.

Minkah Fitzpatrick was the highest-graded #Dolphins player in Week 2 - 85.0 overall - targeted 1 time in coverage (10 yards) - 2 defensive stops, forced fumble and fumble recovery #FinsUp

This. We need that #1 pick.

Yes, so we can draft another solly or Reuben

Exactly. Our drafting in the first round has been atrocious, outside of the obvious picks like Bosa.

McGlinchey is atrocious? You guys make it sound like Solly and Reuben were in two different years. It was the same year because they traded up back in the first for Reuben

what?

Because you know the #1 rated OT is usually available in the second round of the draft.

It's those long snapper prospects that go really early. It would be smart for us to trade up to the top 5 for one next year.

Elite tackles can be had in the 8th round.
Well covered that the raiders were taking mcglinchy one pick after us in round 1.

And as evideence they REEEAAACCCCHHHHHEEEEDDDD on their pick. I mean man there's only two things to complain about with the McGlinchey pick. 1 being Derwin James. And the biggest complaint yeah I don't have to say it.

Nothing surprises me on the zone anymore.

Especially people who miss the entire point of a post so they can support their own confirmation bias, am I right?

McGlinchey was the highest rated OT? You sure about that?

Regardless, I'd gladly give up a late or middle 1st round pick for Minkah.

He was absolutely the top rated OT.

I get what you're saying, and don't really disagree. I'd give up a 1st for Minkah. 3 more years on a rookie contract and better right now than a rookie will probably be next year for us. My issue with that though is that we wouldn't have a pick until the 3rd round.
