If Chicago agrees to a draft day trade of Gould, what wud you take in compensation?

Scobee was traded for a 6th round pick last year, so the market for Gould has to be higher than that. I doubt a 3rd is in the cards, though.

I'd say a 4th or something equivalent (5th plus something else).

5th. and a player wud do.. or take both 7ths

Screw that. No NFC teams without major compensation. We'll franchise him again next year and make him sit out for two years.
Is Dick Butkus available?

not bad at all..
A 7th or if the Bears have to him a 6th. No way it goes any higher.

So just bend over?

Gould is a top 3 kicker, and good kickers are hard to find. We shouldn't let his pouting cost us an asset. A 6th is essentially just a flier.

What do you think the 9ers could get for a 36 year old KICKER?

A disgruntled 36 year old kicker on a franchise tag demanding a trade to Chicago. We ain't getting squat back for him. Franchising him was a fools game...should have offered him our top deal before F/A and if he declined gone into day one of F/A with the pocketbook open...now our genius FO is being held hostage by a freaking kicker....

Who cares? A 36 year old kicker isn't going to sit out the season, give up 5 mil, and get rusty, and he sure isn't going to do poorly on purpose. Make him play for the team this year.

I'll take a 4th or 5th and move on...if not he will be kicking for SF this yr. like you said he's not gonna lose $5 million (which would be more money than he's ever made in one yr of kicking).
