Yeah, not happening.
Yup, they definitely want that 2nd overall for Haskins

OBJ/Sweat > Bosa/Samuel
But we have to take the salary cap space into the equation. The money we would be paying OBJ could go to Thomas and still have a some left over.
So Bosa/Samuel/Thomas > OBJ/Sweat......... until I change my mind again tomorrow. Either way, we win.

I like Bosa but getting a proven stud WR at the NFL level plus the draft being deep at dline seems to make this a no brainer for me. Obviously, you guys must be a little higher on Bosa than I am.
Good news is, the Niners would be much better off as a team with BOTH of these options.
OBJ isn't going to come cheap at all. He's going to cost $19 mil a year. Missed 16 games over the last 2 years. Only 9 tds over the last two years. So I highly doubt there will be a realistic asking price for him. so in my opinion it's a mute point. I'm not going to mortgage future draft picks for OBJ.
This is the value of the number 2 pick and what it brings to the table that's where most people agree that we should not trade that pick for a wide receiver.

I see the OBJ chatter is increased. They would want to use the Raiders as leverage. If they get AB, we'd mainly be competing with the Brown's as of now. If we can get Bosa, stay at 2. Offer NY picks,2019 2nd and 2020 1st, for OBJ. They can then use those picks to trade up to 3 with the Jets to get Haskins. It will be a smaller move up.

Not a chance. Any OBJ trade involves us giving them #2 overall this year. Which leads to the dilemma of Bosa and a 2nd round WR vs OBJ and the 3rd or 4th best edge player. Not an easy decision, but I think they keep Bosa if given the opportunity. If he is gone they hope the trade is still there.

Sadly OBJ rumors with the Browns exist. Sigh looks like 49ers FO will once again drop the ball with their timid selves.
But hey let's sign an overrated RB to 15 mill guaranteed!
It seems as long as the name of the player isn't well known, let's back the truck up to their house.

Actually Giants laughed at the Browns offer. So there's that.

The Brown's traded one of their pieces they would have used for OBJ. The Raiders look like they might get AB. We shouldn't have others trying to drive up the price. Now it's SF or the Giants keep him.

Would anyone be willing to trade our #2 out right for OBJ IF we already secured D. Ford and E. Griffin in previous trades? Which option do you like better?
OBJ/Ford/Griffin
or
QW/Ford/Griffin
or
Trade down to recoup draft capital/Ford/Griffin
I like the last option the best especially if it gets a 2nd back and add's some more ammo for next year, but the other two options are appealing as well. The first option is definitely an "all in" win now endeavor.

Swap firsts give them this year's 2nd and next years 4th. They get to get their QB and another quality player. We get our pass rusher and a number one receiver to complete our offense. They get to say that got more than the steelers got for A.B. The cost of moving from 6 to 2 has been higher before

If you wanted to move into the top 2 for a QB typically, you're giving up an additional 1st and 2nd rounder at minimum. The Giants getting an early 2nd rounder and other picks in addition to moving up from 6 to 2 would be laughably silly value for them.
I think that anything more than the 49ers swapping Pick 2, a late pick this year and a conditional 2nd or 3rd next year is overpaying.
He's not demanding a new contract though and most of his money is paid. I think swapping picks and giving them something in return would work. Maybe a player thats on our books that weve already paid guaranteed money to. Someone like Solomon thomas lol. I agree that his value isnt as high as what the giants want

I wouldn't give more than a swap of the 2nd and 6th pick. The value alone in that move is a top-10 pick. If they aren't biting, stand pat, draft Bosa (hopefully) and get a receiver in the 2nd. Use that cap space on these other difference makers they are after. I'm not upset that they are trying, but this just doesn't make sense, as greater as OBJ is.

And they can have him. Thinking they should get that and not give up 6...pass.
