Well, I wasn't alone. 31 other NFL teams felt the same way.

And I did like him as a player. I just never thought he would be this good.

Looking back at this thread, and thinking what could have been. Lunch was scouting Kwon, but he couldn't see what Barrett could bring? Could you imagine if we had him on this d line?

Hindsight is always easy. Who is next years FA steal? We need another edge rusher. I don't think e can rely on Dee Ford.

Well this was a bad correlation I admit. It would have been more appropriate to say that Lynch should have seen Barrett while scouting Ford. My bad.

Ive watched Barrett on the broncos for his entire career. I thought he would be a good player but he played out of his mind this year. I was hoping to grab him as a value free agent this past offseason purely because I knew he would be solid and good value.

But with that said... acting like anyone, scout or fan alike had him pegged as the player he was this year is foolish. The team that knew him the best not only didnt retain his services which would of been the cheapest 19 sack DE season in the history of the NFL... but they also drafted Bradley Chubb over Quinton Nelson or a QB when QB/OL was a much higher priority and need in 2018. Thats the team that saw him day in and day out.

On the Broncos he played like a 8-12 sack guy if given the starting job. Ahmad Brooks with a better pass rush... but this year he absolutely balled out there is no doubt about that. Now its gonna be about consistency, is he the next Jason Babin or is this the true Shaq Barrett. I'm hoping he is the latter because the Broncos really should of held onto him with what he showed when given his opportunities. But again... he doesnt end up on the Bucs for $4m if anyone truly believed he had a 19 sack season in him. He exceeded all expectations and good for him cause he is about to get PPPPAAAAIIIIDDD!!

Gotcha. I think that's more on Peters though

I knew he would be this good. I wanted him so bad before we got ford and cooled of on him.

Guy is starting to come around.
