We have a 2018 free agency thread, but front offices are now starting to plan their 2019 offseasons. Let's first take a look at notable players across the core positions. QB: Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Trevor Siemian Analysis: Fitzpatrick could replace Winston as TB's QB, and Bridgewater could do the same for Brees in NO. Taylor is likely to be retained by CLE. Siemian is an ideal fit as a backup in a WCO. RB: Le'Veon Bell, Tevin Coleman, Marshawn Lynch, Frank Gore, Jay Ajayi, T.J. Yeldon, C.J. Anderson, Ty Montgomery, Adrian Peterson, Alfred Morris Analysis: A lot of good talent entering free agency. Gore, Lynch, and Peterson will be on 1 year deals moving forward. Bell is the prize. FB/TE: Jared Cook, Tyler Eifert, Jesse James, Nick Boyle, Maxx Williams, C.J. Uzomah Analysis: Cook has had a strong start to the year. Uzomah is an underrated TE. Maxx Williams is a bust, but could provide value as a role player. WR: Golden Tate, Randall Cobb, Larry Fitzgerald, Quincy Enunwa, Donte Moncrief, Tyrell Williams, Terrelle Pryor, Devin Funchess, Chris Conley, Martavis Bryant Analysis: Again, lots of good talent here. I expect Tate, Cobb, and Conley to make the most bank. T - Donovan Smith, Trent Brown, Ja'Wuan James, Bobby Massie, Daryl Williams, Jamon Brown, Jordan Mills, Cameron Fleming, Jake Fisher Analysis: Smith and Brown are the key talent at T, and both are high likely to be resigned by their current teams. G/C - Max Garcia, A.J. Cann, Ryan Kalil, Matt Paradis, Ali Marpet, Quinton Spain, Matt Slauson, James Carpenter, Rodger Saffold, Andy Levitre Analysis: Lots of good young and older talent. Garcia, Paradis, Cann, and Marpet are emerging talent. Levitre and Kalil are proven vets. DL Interior: Ndamukong Suh, Sheldon Richardson, Malcom Brown, Grady Jarrett Analysis: Richardson is going to make bank this offseason. Jarrett is vastly underrated in Atlanta. DL Edge: DeMarcus Lawrence, Clay Matthews, Ziggy Ansah, Cameron Wake, Brandon Graham, Jadeveon Clowney, Dante Fowler, Shane Ray, Shaquil Barrett, Frank Clark, Dion Jordan, Preston Smith, Derrick Morgan, Brian Orakpo Analysis: Finally some intriguing talent entering free agency. Don't bank on Lawrence making it. Cowboys have a ton of cap room in 2019. LB: Jordan Hicks, Anthony Barr, Kwon Alexander, C.J. Mosley, Denzel Perryman, Preston Brown, K.J. Wright Analysis: Barr is the prized target entering the offseason. Alexander is underrated. K.J. Wright can play multiple positions in a 4-3 under scheme. DB: Earl Thomas, LaMarcus Joyner, Darqueze Dennard, Landon Collins, Haha Clinton-Dix, Tyrann Mathieu, Rashaan Melvin, Bradley Roby, Kareem Jackson Analysis: Safety market was saturated last year. Expect the same this year. Corner is lacking top talent in the market. ST: Robbie Gould, Brad Pinion, Kyle Nelson, and a ton more... Analysis: Lots of good names out there for kicker. More slim for punter. 49er players will attract a market if they hit FA. --- With some names out there now, here are a few targets that would be great fits on the 49ers - talent and scheme. This assumes players like Lawrence get tagged. RB: Tevin Coleman | If Jared McKinnon is cut, then Coleman is a natural replacement. Plug and play with direct ties to Shanahan. RB: T.J. Yeldon | Similarly, if McKinnon is cut with Breida as the speed guy, then Yeldon makes sense as the power guy. WR: Golden Tate | Upgrades ability to get separation from press coverage, and allows Garcon to transition to slot. WR: Tyrell Williams | Adds size and he's shown great promise as a 3rd option in LAC. Again, it can move Garcon to the slot. James/Goodwin as speed. OL: Max Garcia | Adam Peters ties and played in Kubiak's system. Former starter that is now a G/C backup. Could compete at RG. OL: Matt Paradis | Again, Adam Peters ties with Kubiak experience. Starter at C, but if open, could be a great fit at RG in our scheme. LEO: Brandon Graham | Stout against the run and flashes ability to get to the QB, Graham would be a proven LEO for our scheme. SAM: Shaquil Barrett | Get the theme here? Peters ties that has shown flashes but has been behind Miller, Ray, Ware, and now Chubb. He can start at SAM and flex to the EDGE on pass rush downs.

some good edge rushers out there. they will be a big upgrade for guy slike AA/Marsh/Thomas.

I want Ansah/Clowney, Clay Matthews, and Bosa in the draft. No I'm not kidding that's the amount of attention we need to have outside in order to fix this team.

And throw in a guard. But I feel we do need another veteran in this defense.

Brandon Graham would be a great get, unlikely that the Eagles can keep him. Strong possibility that Ansah, Lawrence and even Fowler are retained. Fowler would be great but he seems primed for a huge season and unless his character issues are strong enough, the Jaguars would be wise to retain him. To me that leaves Graham as the top available edge rusher. Graham doesn't give you huge sack numbers but produces a ton of pressures which would likely lead to more sacks for Buckner, Thomas and Day.

Shaq Barrett-Would be an upgrade at SAM over Nzeocha, much more of a prototypical fit for this scheme.

Draft Focus-Another edge rusher, top WR or TE available, developmental tackle and guard, CB, RB, S.

Melvin At corner was awesome on the colts. I hope we get him and I wanted graham in the draft really bad if we can land those two we are really well off.

we already have two good running back so we don't need any more.

golden Tate would be awesome but it looks like we are somewhat set at receiver going forward. We really don't need a dominant receive it but it would be nice. None are available

I'd like to have a bigger back for goal line and short yardage situations. Breida/Morris/Big Back would be a nice trio.

I missed Chris Conley is a free agent list. He fits the bill of a Shanny WR. Dude put on a crazy performance at the combine. I could see them coveting him.

That's wayyyyy too much money spent on guys that are either old (clay) or will cost a s**t ton of money and always hurt.

Ahhh we aren't set at WR imo. Garcon is a shell of himself and thus far you can't count on Goodwin (been injury prone since coming into the league). Tate would be a solid addition and a great fit for Kyle's offense. Can beat man, great YAC, and a very good blocker. 3rd down killer for yrs. we need dependable players for once

Honestly IDGAF. We need multiple players who can rush from the outside. Something teams like the Eagles have had to make get to the next level, they just come at you in waves. Matthews won't be that much he is old but not sure how much he has left. I have always respected him as a player and would be a good Sam/backup MLB IMO. Injuries are a part of the game but we need to take a risk as Lynch hasn't made any big signings so far I would take my chances with one of those two talented rushers. TBH I have serious doubts we keep Thomas and even Foster (injuries and off the field) we really don't have any blue chip players).
