What would it take to trade for AJ Green?

Where are you hearing this?

It's mostly speculation from local beat writers and rumors on reddit and Twitter at this point I think. It's hard to tell if there is anything to it, but usually where there is smoke there is at least a little bit of fire.

If he was actually available what do you guys think the asking price would be?

Our 2nd this year and 3rd next year?

3rd this year. He is a free agent next season and 30.
But the zone will be torn between excitement and pessimism cuz he has been injured and doesn't have magical healing powers...

AJ Green is a fun idea though. Bengals seem like they are a message and I bet he wants out after this year. I can see the Bengals wanting something but letting him walk could net a 3rd round comp so it has to start there with maybe a little extra to make them consider it

It won't happen, but I would only give up pick #67 and nothing more. He has one year left on his contract, is the same age as AB, isn't as productive as AB and has only 34 starts in the last three seasons.

He'd be a #1 WR on our team for sure but he's not worth more than pick #67. That's a very high 3rd right now compared to MAYBE getting pick #97 at the most in 2021, plus I doubt the Bengals are going for it this year (would have done more in free agency and they could be moving on from Dalton).

Highest Id give up is a 3rd. Then we can go ER and FS in the draft and it'd be a damn good offseason.

But nothing more than 67. He's already 30 and doesnt seem like the type of WR thats going to be playing well at age 33+

so glad you are not the GM

and you'll forever be a POP WARNER assistant special team coach if you think AJ Green isn't worth a 3rd rounder.. .

I would give up our 2nd this year. Here's how I'd do it.

I'd go after Shaq Barrett.

I would trade our #36 to Cincy for Green.

I then would ATTEMPT to trade my #2. Hopefully to Oakland. If we could trade #2 for #4 their 2nd this year and next. At 4 we likely could still get Allen or Williams.

So our #2 pick essentially would have netted us, AJ Green, Dee Ford and either Allen or Williams as opposed to just netting Bosa

As for the trade compensation.
Keep in mind last year Colts got 3 2nds to move back from 3rd to 6th. So dont expect 3 1sts to move back 2 spots.

That's how i would play the long game.

Edit: i put go after Shaq Barrett for the simple fact if Bosa and Allen goes 2-3 or if i had to trade back to say 6th instead you have some insurance

In this scenario, it would have been beneficial to get a FA pass rusher who can play BE instead of another SAM in Barrett. Maybe Ansah?

Im in the belief that Ford can play with his hand in the dirt not worried about labels

Two 3rds...another guy who's been injury prone the past couple yrs.

And it's a foot which is always scary. I'd still give up 2 3rds. I think his cap hit this year is 10-11
