What would it take to trade for AJ Green?

The thing is, receivers getting open has not been a problem. Drops have been a bit of a problem. QB accuracy has been a bit of a problem. But largely, we aren't producing big numbers passing because shanny doesn't think we need to.

Kind of odd that they're making a push to trade for a WR before the deadline then.

Exactly. Our receivers are a problem. They can't catch, they can't stay healthy, and they can't get open in the red zone. Period.

Well we need a wr in the worst way. Can't wait for
Pettis to be consistent
Samuel to develop
Trent Taylor to stay healthy

We have a championship team except for wrs

This is why I'm down for trading a late round pick for a successful veteran receiver. We need that leadership in our WR room.

I'm down to trade a 1st round pick but it depends on who, I'd do it for Odell Beckham and Keenan Allen if they were available. Other than that:

AJ Green (healthy) = 4th round pick

DeVante Parker = 2021 3rd round pick

Emmanuel Sanders = WR + 5th or 6th round pick or No WR and just 2021 4th round pick

That's how I would approach these trades. Not sure about any other rumors.
3rd in 2021 and 5th in 2020 is the highest I give for him..

Fans notoriously operate two years in the past. People still believe David Johnson is a top NFL RB...when he is now splitting reps and at risk of being cut/restructured in the offseason. Similarly, Todd Gurley is less than what he was...but people still feel compelled to say he is a top 5 RB. It just takes awhile for fans to recalibrate.

Lol David Johnson is not splitting reps nor is at risk of being cut. Contract restructuring heck yeah. They did that with a lot of their top dawgs as they're in a tight spot. Johnson has actually been a nice surprise this year for the cards and has shown he still has the hands. He's been playing through some back pains as of late but his catch in that last game was the difference or a W or a L.

Granted he is not what he used to be I will agree.

The decline of David Johnson continues. Has only had 1 good season his entire life. It will be a surprise if he's on the roster at this point next year.

AJ Green - it's not going to hurt our team if we give up a 3rd rounder (2020) and a 4th than can turn into a 3rd rounder (2021) if he meets certain stats.

I'd pull the trigger on that too
3rd rounder is the most i'd give up on for AJ Green

According to who?

The unknown surrounding AJ Green's health, current skill level, and the fact that he's a soon to be free agent, isn't worth a 3rd round pick. Someone will offer the Bengals that or better, but hopefully it's not Lynch.

"With eight days remaining before the NFL trade deadline, the 49ers are 'aggressively pursuing' the acquisition of a wide receiver, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports."

Pretty sure that came from Jason La Canra
I would pull the trigger on AJ Green if the price is right. A 3rd round pick for an often injured WR doesn't seem to risky. To think we may be able to also bring back Hurd and Taylor would increase the WR group considerably... Get it done Lynch!
