The quarterback and scheme is supplying the YPC is it not?
The YAC is being supplied by whom? Couldn't possibly be the player who caught the ball would it?

Ummmm because YPC encorporates YAC. If you catch a ball 5 yards from the LOS and then run another 5, it's a 10 yard reception. Did you not understand that this whole time?

And you hate on Cutler and Gase yet Alshon Jeffery did just fine with that combo...

Somehow you've made YPC so relevant when that's supplied by many factors, but YAC is solely supplied by the player itself and is irrelevant.

Ypc and yac are determined by different factors tho.
Ypc is determined by the play call and qbs ability.
Yac is determined by what the player does on his own.

If you are throwing short passes that are built for YAC, you will get plenty of YAC. But ultimately offenses want to maximize yards they're getting on each play right? Plays to Landry don't return as many yards as plays to other receivers.Originally posted by Watters32:The quarterback and scheme is supplying the YPC is it not?

Dude...you don't think the player is at all responsible for getting open down field? Or that a play can be designed to get YAC? And you serious?Originally posted by Watters32:Originally posted by Draftology:Ummmm because YPC encorporates YAC. Now plays to Landry don't return as many yards? Yet he's avg about 1k yards per season.

YAC can come from any depth of a reception, not only from 5 yard passes dude.

Yards per catch dude...plays that Landry catches the ball don't get as many yards on average as other receivers...that's what we've been talking about this whole time lol

The criticism in here of Jarvis Landry's value is a good thing for us fans, that you're not the GM of the team should they have an opportunity to pursue.

That's what happens when you're the only elite player in your offense, it's called being bracketed.

Yep but want to bet where most of it comes from for Landry? He leads the league in percent of receptions that were caught within 5 yards of the LOS. If they were down field he'd have a higher YPC. We're going in circles here...Originally posted by Watters32:YAC can come from any depth of a reception, not only from 5 yard passes dude.

There are plenty of players on worse offenses that are more productive.

The hoodie even described his coverages on Landry in an interview. One for the out, one for the slant, one up top. Everyone else you don't have to worry about.
