You think Goodwin is our WR1?

Could be Garcon. But even in his best year, he's only tallied 6 TDs.

Patriots won 2 SB's with Givens and Branch as their starting WR's. Neither one of those guys had more than 6 TD's total in both of those years and both of those years they managed to finish 12th and 4th respectively in points scored. They also did not have a single player who produced double digit sacks in either year.

Yeah but NE has Randy Moss who had 23 TDs and they won the super.....oh wait

Like you said all SF can do is build their team and not worry about whatever the Rams do. It's not like we play them 16 weeks in a row.

If they can figure out a way to get OBJ great awesome, talent is talent...if it's gonna require them not being able to bring in multiple young talented players and resign/sign some other FAs, then I don't have a problem if they decide not to pursue it.

Fair point. But they have Brady and one of the best redzone threats in the game with Gronk. We have a great QB, but not Brady and we definitely don't have the equivalent of a Gronk.

Who were the great big monster red zone threats they had when Branch was winning SB MVP? How often has gronk been hurt of the past couple yrs? A s**t ton, didn't spot them from putting points on the board.

Why can't they draft a red zone threat? We have a QB who can MAKE WR/TEs and everyone around him better...how many first rd picks did the packers spend on WRs since Rogers was the QB? Zero

If they give Odell a fat contract that's good news for us. Then they can't keep all their people they have coming up, Gurley, Peters, Goff, Suh, and Donald.
By the way, I listened to that podcast with Kyle Shanahan's friend Chris Simms. He said he told Kyle that Odell was better than Julio...and also talked about how great Odell would be in a creative offense that knew how to use him.

There is no world where the rams getting Odell is good for us.

They did not have Gronk then, they had Christian Fauria and Daniel Graham at TE then.

All you do for the most part is take jabs at those you do not like. You rarely wanna talk about and look at the positives.

Never said we did not need upgrades anywhere. I know we need some upgrades but again this is a marathon not a sprint.

I think they have enough cap space to retain most of their big names that arent on one year deals waiting for the next free agency cycle (Suh). Along with being the second youngest team in the league, their championship window should last for a few year at least. I agree though that they are about at their superstar limit for who they will be able to retain.

But they are putting themselves in the position allot of teams who spend big via $ or picks in FA... they will need to nail each draft from here on out or its inevitable that injuries will expose a lack of depth from recent bad drafts like Seattle and the Broncos.

My thinking with the Rams, even if somehow they get OBJ, winning the off-season seems like a death sentence for winning the Superbowl that year.

You're all about the flashy names, I used to be like that but you can't buy success. That doesn't equate to success. You're thinking about just next season, you have to see the bigger picture. Them going all in on a bunch of divas and bad personalities is a great thing.

*cough* defense *cough*.... Seymour, Law, Harrison, Wilfork, Milloy, Vrabel, Bruschi, Cox.... I always attributed Brady's first two SB's more to their defense and last minute heroics from Brady and Vinitieri. Then Brady took the next step from cardiac cat to top 1 or 2.

Agreed. We get Beckham, then great as he is a very very talented player. If we do not, I am fine with that too. It is about following the plan they have in place to build this thing up to be a perennial contender and get the guys who fit their vision.

You need some new material. Always Ward this, Eli that, AA this, god Lynch's bathwater that.

Rinse and repeat in every other post. None of those guys are hurting us nor are they preventing us from adding players to compete with them. They will come to camp and compete and those who make the roster will have earned that opportunity. Those who are on the 46 are because they give us the best chance to win THAT week.

Who cares what these other teams are doing. We do not need to act and react to the moves they make with counter moves, we are not playing chess, this is American football. Stay the course with building our team our way and continue to try and build a dynasty and not a 1-2 or maybe 3 year contender. Do you see the Steelers trying to sign or trade for every corner out there because the Browns added Landry to pair with Gordon ? Did Ballard go out and sign all the offensive playmakers out there to be able to try and score points on that Jaguars defense ? Should the Colts have been more aggressive with their 77 million in cap space because they may very well be the cellar dwellers in that division this year ? The answer is no. We are running a marathon whilst the Rams think this is a sprint.

Everything he said was factually correct.

Oh I know. Just illustrating that teams can win without all these flashy name guys on offense. We need to add pieces that fit the vision Kyle and John have.

Good defense and great coaching go a long long way in this league. Belichick has proven that time and time again.
Beckham would be a fantastic addition, no two ways about it. The only thing that matters now is price, Beckham's and the Giants.
