Odell Beckham

The only way Kyle saying "heard it from two sources" and having be directly related to the Niners would be in reference to the giants allowing OBJ to negotiate a contract with a new team. Otherwise likely confirming another teams transaction.

I'd love to trade for the player. He's be a great fit in the offense. I don't want the drama that seems to come with him and I don't know if he will fit in the culture they are defining. It's tough to trade so much for a player and give such a huge contract. If we trade, I hope its future picks and player we might not keep long term like Armstead or Brown. The Giants need OL.
I wanted a star WR like arob or now Odell to go with Jimmy G, but Shanny seems to like good role players for offense. He doesn't want a WR demanding the ball keep coming to him. He wants his offense to dictate whee the ball goes based off the coverage.
It's more likely we just grab a tall red zone threat in the draft.

OBJ without question. And this is honestly me disliking Dez as much as I like OBJ. Dez isnt Dez anymore.

I know it doesn't really make sense long term salary cap-wise, and isn't really necessary given how Jimmy elevates the offense... but I want OBJ so bad. Total impulse buy, but can't shake it.

Also would love to strategically deny him to any competitors by having him on this team

Haha that's pretty cool. That's definitely Shanahan's voice. I couldn't make out anything that he was saying other than "inside info" and "it's early" or something like that.

Yea I just don't see us giving picks and $20m per year for a wr at this point. Too many holes to fill otherwise.

I'm back and forth on this. Obviously he's a HOF caliber player and I don't want the Rams getting stronger but I'd be excited to see them unload even more draft capital as they go all in for the next season or two.

Agreed! Let them get rid of all their top picks the next few years. They still won't be able to pay for all of these guys and their own studs in a few years! So they won't have good draft picks, they will be CAP strapped, and will have to let some of this talent they acquired walk cause they can't afford all of them. Would love seeing a rival have to rely on hitting late round draft picks stay competitive.

I'd love to have OBJ here but yeah having to throw away multiple high-end draft picks on top of giving him a $100 million dollar contract (around that much) I really don't see him or any WR worth that.

I hope he gets traded to Cleveland and they draft Barkley.
