I understand how you're feeling doe... like wtf! Get this guy and we're instantly better! Appearently out mgmt doesn't think so. We gotta get past the sound of a big name sometimes.

I think the 49ers are done
spending big in FA. I expect any additional signings to come straight off the discount rack.

Hankins isnt that caliber of player to demand even $8 million. I think he is a name that people are fascinated with but his performance wasnt very good last season. Don't see it as some big loss if they pass on signing him.

I agree that the 49ers big spending of 2017 is done. The team is moving it's focus to the draft.

I think Hankins' down year was more attributed to him being moved out of his natural one tech spot due to the Giants bringing in Snacks last season.

Also agree.

Unless some spectacular deal comes out of nowhere - we're staying pat.

Hankins is good but not 8 M good.

Agreed, he's not a 10 mil guy. Hankins is easily a top 20 DT, probably top 15. He's only 24 years old though, so if a team was to pay him that then it's off the belief that he will continue to develop into a top 5 at his position type player. This is the problem with free agency. Your paying for potential over production usually. I would love to have Hankins. He'd be the perfect one tech in the new system. You line him up next to Buckner then say the 49ers draft Thomas and all of sudden thats one hell of a talented young dline all under 25 and yet to see their prime.

Like I said I like Hankins and I've been advocating for him since last year but not at 10 mil a year. I think Lynch and co structured smart contracts during the first wave of free agency. I'd like to keep it that way.

Ian Rapoport's twitter feed.

Ahhh. In Schefter I trust though I like NFLN and think Ian is solid..he's just a lil goofy so people clown on him a lil haha.

I agree with you. Brown and Hankins can both be the guys that we're interested in if the money is right. It's like negotiating for a car... they have it for sale for 7-8 grand. After some talks at the end you pretty much come around and say 4800 is my bottom line offer, straight cash homie; give me a call if you don't get a better offer, thanks for your time and best of luck.

That's actually a dope shirt haha. I'm about to start car shopping for something cash within the next month or so, I think showing up to look at a car in person in that shirt is all the seller is gonna have to know about you lol. Someone make a lynch in that shirt photoshop
Anything?

We aren't landing a big fish like Hankins!

apparently no GM thinks he's a big fish cause he's still waiting....I like him watched a ton of NY games but he's not worth $10 million a yr no f**king way.

He was probably banking on Poe to set the market for him, now he probably has to take a smaller deal. Hes good, but not $10 million a year good.

Hankins ranked out as the 75th best interior defender this yr...granted it PFF and that's not the end all be all, but surrounded by all that talent he should have graded higher IMO.

he'd be a major upgrade for the run D but anyone would be lol.

Too big of a fish for our frying pan.

Cowboys are stalling the deal I bet by playing hardball with Romo cause they could be telling Hankins we can give you more money just wait until we ship out Romo and get some cap relief. Cowboys,Texans and Broncos are all effing up and getting greedy in the Romo situation.

Me too.
I've wanted him because he's young and a solid player - add to that I feel he'd be a great fit.

At 5-6 M I think would be about right.

You could be right

Can't blame them for trying to get something for Romo.

Hankings to the Cowboys would really piss off the Giants' fans - I'd really love it! Hate that team.

But Texans and cowboys are playing around instead of trying to win a SB. Patriots gonna go for an undefeated season with the moves they're making. Eff all those teams and hankins for getting stingy.
What are the Niners waiting for? Just overpay for the guy. It's not like they're hurting for cap space.

100% with you on this. I keep checking here hoping we just do it. Just front load these guys and if they don't work cut them. I greedily want him and Zach Brown. But once can only wish I guess.

Leave it up to the redskins to sign Brown. Hopefully this means it assures as Cousins by them not gonna be able to match the contract.
