Chris Thompson-RB

Maiocco mentioned Thompson as one possibility for the 49ers to go after depending on what round the Redskins tender him at as he's a restricted free agent. He'd be an ideal 3rd round back for Shanahan who was still with the Redskins when Thompson was drafted. He averaged over 5 yards a carry for Washington this season and also had 340 yards receiving.

Gotta love it at 1:38

Someone was just telling me about Thompson the other day. Said he's one of the most underrated weapons in the NFL.

yes please.
I mentioned him in the 2nd tier free agency thread.

He's the sort of back that would fit KS well and if there is any truth to Cousins coming to us this year or next then it's extra bait because Cousins rates him very highly.
Nice call Phoenix, I like this kid a lot, he's a great change of pace back to Hyde..would be a great signing and shouldn't cost much at all..liked him a lot coming out of FSU too

Would love this kid in Shanahan's offense. Only a bonus he went to FSU

I don't think he's going anywhere. I could see us making a play for Alfred Morris instead if he gets released by the Cowboys.
Depends. He's a RFA and I don't see the team giving up picks for him. He would be an excellent signing though. The Skins refused to commit to a RB last year, Thompson definitely showed flashes that he could carry the load. At worst, he's a solid #2 in the league and would provide some much needed speed and depth at the position.

Thompson, Jacquiz Rodgers, or Lance Dunbar as a receiving threat would all be nice to me.

And no thanks to Alfred Morris. He's no bueno.
