Nnamdi Asomugha was a 49er

Why can't some people get that Nnamdi sucked the last two years largely due to scheme. How would he go from being a shutdown corner in Oakland to completely sucking in Philly? They used him completely wrong. He's not a zone off type of corner. He's a press corner. What philly did with him would be similar to asking a scat back to come in and become your short yardage goaline back and expect them to suddenly be a power back. Philly suddenly expected Nnamdi to play just as well as a zone corner.

Put him in our scheme and I expect him to play close to as well as he did in Oakland. He might not be quite as good just because he's a little older, but I'm expecting a very good corner at the least when put in the right situation.

This is awesome. Our coaching staff will utilize him correctly and he'll be the steal of the year
Im blown away by what the front office is able to pull off. They stick to there guns and get a good deal for the team. wow great job.

Donte Whitner said he believes Nnamdi has a lot left in the tank. Said Philadelphia ran a lot of zone and in SF they run man about 70 percent of the time, so it'll allow nnamdi to use those long arms and play like how he did in Oakland.

This..... and thanks!

Thanks for that, but I'm really surprised that this is news to so many.

No prob.

Hard concept for Seachickens fans to understand.
Nice Deal, I hope he stays healthy and fits in and is effective & productive.

He did nothing in Philly, and I doubt the 49ers are going to play him the exact same way Oakland did. Plus, Oakland had an absolute nobody at the other CB position, so even being a decent CB would have greatly reduced his targets. I may have to go post on the 49ers Web Zone with his Pro Football Focus stats.LOL, Nnamdi Asomugah ranked 101st out of the 113 CBs to see at least 25% of snaps last year in the NFL. That is not just bad, that is horrible. For pass coverage specifically, he's 103rd. Pathetic.

Who cares what that dude thinks. Biggest homer ever. Even for a Seahawks fan, and that's saying quite a bit.

Careful. Don't show joy, it'll upset the trolls.

You know they can smell it up to a mile away; two miles down wind.

It's funny because if you put Richard Sherman on that philly defense, he'd probably rank even worse than Nnamdi did. All of Sherman's game relies on press man coverage and illegal contact down field. Plug in Sherman into a zone type of defense and he'll blow.
i love trent and jim
keeping my fingers crossed

I just thought it was funny, since he DID actually post those stats over here. It amazes me how much Seahags fans rely on stats to prove their teams CLEAR superiority to the 49ers.
Please nobody say anything about a dream team!
