Well, as no games have been played yet, it's a unknown how much this offseason translates into wins...But I for one, sure like the sense of direction that the
ShaoLyn Masters are providing for our Team....it's great to feel positive about the Niners again...

Not sure what Dumervil has left in the tank in terms of production, but I like the signing based on the experience, leadership and work ethic he can bring to the team. If he can help pass on some of what he knows to our young talent and helps them on their way, then this signing will be a good thing even if he doesn't do much on the field. However, if he can still make an impact on the field and make some plays, then that will make this signing a really good thing. Either way, I like the addition.

I bet he's going to be used as a passing down pass rush specialist to maximize his production and to keep him fresh....

From the source of all that is truth, PFF:
Dumervil was injured for over half of the season in 2016 but after returning in Week 12, he was tied with Ryan Kerrigan for third in the league in total pressures from the left side (22).

Will he be #58? That would be Keena Turner's old number.

He's short and gets under the pads of the offensive linemen. He had a burst and a great motor. Let's see what's left in the tank.

Nice!! Big fan of this signing. I think he still has some gas in the tank. We needed more competition at LEO. Even if he's just a pass rush specialist, he should help us.

Agreed. Not a 3-down player but someone who will make an impact on passing downs.

Good news signing for San Francisco. Fills an immediate need, still productive, offers competition for Aaron Lynch and Arik Armstead at the Leo spot, and provides valuable leadership and work ethic on defense. What would the new d-line look like?
Base
Thomas-Mitchell-Buckner-Dumerville
Passing Downs
Armstead-Thomas-Buckner-Dumerville
?
Seems confident in Lynch and Armstead is very low, and until they prove it on the field its the right approach.

Im liking it for more these reasons than anything as well. Maybe he can mentor and instill something in Lynch and the Rook?, if anything he can be like Fred Dean was for us back in '81
