Elvis Dumervil

Respectfully, I don't think there's going to be a roster spot for a mentor on this team.
And 6 1/2 sacks isn't much of a keeper stat.
Played out, move on.

Now, the arguments against relying on Tank, AA and Eli are all valid, but they don't frame this decision to part ways with Elvis.

This team is likely to have another 30 new faces in 2020. Not getting hung up on one dude this off season like there's no plan going forward.

I'm going to put back on my Jimmy Colored Glasses and enjoy FA and the draft.

Yeah, I think Marsh is someone they plan on taking a long look at, with guys like AA, Pita, and even Harold being given chances to see what they can do. Personally I want Edmunds with the 9th pick, but if a QB the Bills want falls to 9, then trading down with the Bills, who just traded away Tyrod Taylor, could make a lot of sense, to give us multiple early picks to try and get more young talent onto the roster.

If Edmunds is their first round pick, then Saleh will probably make him a LEO like he has every other d-line first round pick except Buckner (and I imagine even Buck lines up at LEO on rare occasion).

I feel like Edmunds might very well be a really good pick at 9. Maybe start him at SAM and then slide over to LEO on passing plays and just cut him loose to get the QB. I think he would benefit from starting out up on the line where the action is fairly immediate and right in front of you. And then over time he can move to inside linebacker where his experience up on the line may help him better see and understand what is happening on the line a few steps in front of him.

Has to be a trade in the works. Only way this makes sense is adding a pass rusher via trade and taking Landry @ 9 or trade down slot. Pass rush was ass last year and getting rid of the best rusher on the team in March? Something is up.

If we find out we made a big trade for a pass rusher I would be ecstatic but as I said earlier, I'm not counting on it. FA and draft.

FA edge class is very weak. Like mostly a bunch of guys that are marginal upgrades to Doom but at a likely pricier cost so it's basically a draw. It has to be a bigger move than that otherwise I don't get it.

If that's the plan, 2018 pass rush might even be worse than 2017.

Hopefully by cutting ties with Dumervil, they're working out a trade for Ansah or Lawrence. Otherwise why would you get rid of your best pass rusher?

Do you even Eli H bro?

Same, I don't see either team letting elite talent like that go, specially if they are tagged and locked in for this year. Now, the backups to either Lawrence or Ansah might be worth taking a look at.
Must have faith in Eli and Marsh. Lol Lynch. Lol Saleh. Smh

Shocked we cut him, especially with bum Zane Beadles on the squad.

Good point. Beadles needs to go.

Lets get rid of our best passrusher with no one in place to fill that need. BRILLIANT!

Eli is going to prove us all wrong by getting 3 sacks next year
I was surprised to see we are parting ways with Elvis. Tells me though we will be signing (or trading) for a pretty good pass rushing DE. Maybe Brandon Graham? Vinny Curry?

I suspect you will see them add (upgrade) in FA and def the draft. Relax

Who's that upgrade in F/A?? Any half decent pass rusher has already been locked up. Elvis was going to cost us 3.5 million, that's chump change for the 6.5 sacks he gave us playing a 1/3 of the snaps.
