Thanks for the insight! There were also reports that he isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed either. So CK has worked pretty hard with him and "speaks his language" so-to-speak. I'm curious to see how that translates onto the field now, myself. Hope he can turn that corner. He's got all the tools and the license to succeed.

Im rootin for him but he has already disappeared in non-padded practices, hope he shows something during training camp for fans to start rooting for.
The idea that Ricardo Lockette isn't the sharpest tool in the drawer is a matter of opinion. People are interpreting the reports that Kaep "speaks his language" to mean he lacks intelligence. People who don't understand that in order to effectively teach another human being, you must be able to get people to relate to what you're trying to communicate. All great leaders/ teachers do this.

Pretty much non-existent. Made one spectacular tackle on special teams, that's about it.
I'll admit I was wrong. I thought Jenkins and Lockette would step up this year big time. Just not enough time for either I guess and not enough reps to go around. I'd like to see him at least get some time with his room mate Kap. I'd be shocked if he made it at this point. Guy has all the physical tools in the world not sure what's holding him back. At least he got to live it up with Kap at the ESPY's.
I am still holding out hope that Lockette can be that guy to step up and earn the # 2 role. Size, speed, hops, etc... would be sweet. I don't expect Baldwin to be much of anything, so once again, I am hoping SF can develop +/or acquire that big bodied WR. (as I already like our smaller WRs)
Yeah hard to just dismiss him when he has only had two balls thrown his way. I think our leading receiver has only a few more catches than that. That said, hopefully they get him some real chances with CK next game. Baldwin has a long ways to go as well but we need those big bodies outside! He did have a very good camp and pre season; just isn't getting any real opportunities. NOBODY save for Jennings at WR has gotten any real opportunities. To put it into perspective, Chad Hall is our leading receiver thus far.

Not sure what it is, but WR seems to be the most difficult position for young guys to step up in (next to QB).

You have to pull for a guy who worked so hard in the off season! And because the niners need a speedy WR as fish need water. Wish the practices were open but...all we get is the news through a few media guys, one or two of whom I respect.

I think at this point Lockette's best opportunity is to cling onto the 53 through special teams and hopefully in time he will get more WR chances later on.
