And thats provided that Moss don't let the old Moss express himself. Again, just because he's cheap and "safe" doesn't mean Moss is the best fit for this locker room. We do need his talent, I'm not so sure we need Moss.

And as I said last night this cannot be the long term answer for the 49ers. Up to this point all indications, at least from what I could tell, pointed to Baalke & Co. building for long term success. I fail to see how this helps long term. I'd feel a lot better about this if we made a serious push for Colston, for example, and re-signed Morgan (maybe they want too much money too?). Cheap and safe doesn't mean it's the best move. I have to believe that this isn't the extent of our WR FA moves. I have to believe that we are going to sign a much younger WR off the street with a bigger upside. I'm starting to have serious concerns but I want to give Baalke & Co. the benefit of the doubt and see how things look after the draft and free agency before I voice them.
Warning:
If Moss does not put up big numbers, he WILL start to tear the locker room apart. That is a %100 GUARANTEE. I don't care how sincere he sounds when BS'ing to Harbalke. He is an intelligent person. I'm sure he knows how to put on a show and say all the right things at the right time.
But people are like tea bags, only when the water gets hot, do you know what you really have.
If Moss does not put up numbers, he'll make Braylon Edwards and Michael Crabtree look like the President and CEO of the "Alex Smith fan club".
lol i'm sure Harbs and Baalke know a 35yo WR is not a long term solution. Moss was brought here to stretch the field and open up VD and Crabs. he is also going to be the teams best red zone threat. something that was a major problem last year.

the niners picked up 1.6 million in cap $ yesterday...it was burning a hole in their pocket and they had to spend it

Can Moss pick up the play book? VD took him all season, when he got it, his numbers just went up! If Moss can nut out the complicated play book he'll do what he does best. I think with Edwards and that injury, the complicated play book didnt help.

yep...copied from ESPN
Late on Monday night -- well, maybe not so late, depending on one's vocation and time zone -- the San Francisco 49ers inked a deal with free agent WR Randy Moss. Our NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that the deal has a base of $2.5 million and has incentives that could bring its value to over $4 million for 2012. It's similar to their one-year, $3 million deal with Braylon Edwards last offseason, though the club is certainly hoping that things work out better with Moss.

VD didn't have a true offseason. also, Moss will most likely have a fairly simple role: go deep, take coverage with you, catch the ball when it comes anywhere close to you, moon fans of opposing teams.

Just another example the FO will not hesitate to add more talent to the roster. Inexpensive contract with solid upside. I think the 49ers next FA will be a CB. Then the draft is all about BPA. IMHO
