Vincent Jackson is the missing piece for the 49ers

And if it HAS to be an upper echelon team, fine, if Baltimore wins it, is Flacco>Rivers since '06????? Man up and answer the damn question.

I agree, I have Panthers slated as a playoff team next year. Cam Newton will eat the Falcons for breakfast, lunch and dinner(he's a hungry guy).

I don't know about winning the SB, but with some good picks to improve their defense, that team will be pretty dangerous next year.

I would luv Vjax but at what price? Because drafting 6'6 TE Fleener in the 1st, signing a good FA CB & young WR both with return skilz would probably cost the same.. I really would like us not sign a big name on offense always..

VJAX would be sweet, but we should try to get Bowe first

I like Jackson better, but I wouldn't mind Bowe either.

Chargers are unlikely to use their franchise tag on wide receiver Vincent Jackson.

IMO, it's no doubt that V Jax will be on Baalke's radar. Yet, how much value will he place on him? If it's like Nnamdi, we won't get him. He will go to someone willing to overpay for his services.

That won't be us.

Andrew Brandt ‏ @adbrandt

Chargers met with agents for Vincent Jackson last night. Expressed interest in keeping him but Tag number of $13.7M not workable.

Thats funny, LaCanfora just said he believes he will franchised. So I wonder what really happens.

Marques Colston had 24 TDs in 3 years, is a year younger and doesnt have the injury concerns like Jackson, If we are gonna go after a WR id rather go after Colston

Colstons knee surgeries dont concern you?? hes had injuries.......... V Jax is built like a tank at 65" you got that backwards.

This.

Vincent Jackson > Colston. He's built like a TE but runs like a WR and is tall as hell. Bigger and taller and more physical than Colston. And faster too.

Schefter said it's unlikely they franchise him but VJ has been convinced they'll franchise him for a while. My guess is they don't though.

$14MM seems a bit much to guarantee a WR, considering that SD is in prime position to pick up the #2 or #3 WR in this draft and/or dip into the deep FA WR class. It's not like they don't have a bevy of options.
Alex Smith will make him look great!!
