Jaguars release David Garrard

Cracks me up that there are actually people saying they dont want him. Absolutely hysterical.
I mean, who would want a pro bowl QB who has led his team to the playoffs when you have a top 5 biggest bust of all time?

Why would the Pats cut a safety that has been to the pro bowl the past two years? Things change. He's not the same QB he was when they signed him to that big money deal.

And on another note, that's fugged up of Del Rio to release him right before the season started. Gives him absolutely no time to learn a playbook or get acclimated to a team. I don't see Del Rio as the HC next season, the guy has had way too many chances to do something with the team.

Just didn't know what was so special about him in the first place, same with Marvin Lewis.
nvm

He's just doing it to save his job... he really messed up Byron Leftwhich too, he then went to Atlanta shortly after the Jags dumped him & didn't look good until he was playing for the Steelers. Garrard signs with a team, sits a few weeks & then starts... maybe he'd be more successful then

Garrard has been horribly inconsistent the past two years. His best days, such as they were, are behind him.

Well look who's been his coaches I don't blame him. I don't believe his best days are behind him yet, I think if he gets into a good system, he will be a pretty good QB. IMO, I think Cincy will come calling, I think he would be a good fit there, Andy Dalton is not ready to start and Gradkowski is injury prone and nothing special.

don't know about Lewis, but Del Rio can rock the hell out of a suit on the sidelines a la Nolan

I'd swap Alex Smith for him anyday. So would Harbaugh, but it's a little too late now.

that would probably be the niners best move--if they want to secure andrew luck next year...you dump the guy you've been working with installing your new system, for a guy who doesnt know your system

Of course.

If getting Garrard means getting rid of Tolzien then I am totally against this move.

This I actually agree with. I don't want to lose Tolzien, I think he has the potential to be really good. His release is so fast and his accuracy is spot on. You can't teach that!

Keep up the positive posts Sus, I like this side of you mucho better.
