And to a contender too! Good for him.... Bad for us.

the Niners couldnt do 12 mil a year with 25 guaranteed???

Maybe it wasn't about money, Bro.
its always about money. players talk about how they want to win, and play somewhere they like, etc. but its about the money. if the 49ers offered 14 mil and 28 guaranteed, hed be a Niner right now. no question in my mind.
No, it's not always about money. Players turn down more lucrative contracts all the time to play elsewhere. Sure, it's not the norm, but it does happen.
FYI, word was the Jets were offering at least $12 mil a year, so it's entirely possible that Nnamdi (gasp) didn't want to play them and/or us. Not that I expect that little nugget of info to stop the "OMG THIS OUR FRONT OFFICE'S FAULT!!!!111" train.
Carry on.
lol give me a few examples of times that players took a decent amount less money to play somewhere else? and im not talking about hometown discounts, i mean when theyre a hot name on the market, and everyone wants them.
its about the money. always has been, always will be. its why everyone holds out. in the NFL, your career could end on any play, so the players are always scratching for every bit of extra money they can get before their career is over. he has no ties to the Eagles, he signed there because they offered more than the Jets, Cowboys, Texans, and Niners offered.
if someone offered you a job pushing paper at a law firm for 1 million dollars a year guaranteed salary, and another law firm offered you 1.3 million a year guaranteed salary, are you really going to give a crap which firm is more prestigious? youre leaving 300,000 dollars on the table because you prefer one place to another?
Right off the top of my head:
-Matt Leinart chose to return to school for his senior year rather than be the #1 pick in the 2005 draft (we held that pick) because he didn't want to be a 49er. He was drafted at number 10 the following year:

-Adalius Thomas turned down a more lucrative contract offered by the 49ers to play for New England. His reasons being that he didn't want to move his family from the east coast:

-And now Nnamdi Asomugha turned down larger contracts offered by the Jets AND Texans to go play for the Eagles:

So there, I gave you three examples. He's just not that into you dude.
Get over it.
