You can't be mad about the Niner office on this one. There's nothing we could have done unless you have a time machine and we picked Rodgers over Smith and built all the pieces perfectly around him afterwards.

Nnamdi wanted to go to Super Bowl contender. That's not us.

DRC, Babin, and Nnamdi to go with Philly's offense. Holy frickin sh*t. I'd still put Green Bay at the top, but Philly is breathing down their back hard.

Don't forget Atlanta who not only drafted Julio Jones, but managed to resign Clabo and sign Ray Edwards. And the Saints who added Sproles, drafted Ingram and resigned Harper and Bushrod.

On paper one could easily assume those will be the 4 teams left in the NFC divisional round.

DRC is good not great...poor in run support, poor tackler and undisciplined. Good in pass pro though.

Reid also stated that Aso is going to play RCB (which he has most of his career).

And to a contender too! Good for him.... Bad for us.

the Niners couldnt do 12 mil a year with 25 guaranteed???

Maybe it wasn't about money, Bro.

its always about money. players talk about how they want to win, and play somewhere they like, etc. but its about the money. if the 49ers offered 14 mil and 28 guaranteed, hed be a Niner right now. no question in my mind.

No, it's not always about money. Players turn down more lucrative contracts all the time to play elsewhere. Sure, it's not the norm, but it does happen.

FYI, word was the Jets were offering at least $12 mil a year, so it's entirely possible that Nnamdi (gasp) didn't want to play them and/or us. Not that I expect that little nugget of info to stop the "OMG THIS OUR FRONT OFFICE'S FAULT!!!!111" train.

Carry on.

The Jets were offering more money than Philadelphia AND are a contender. I cant figure out why he turned the Jets down???

Also, maybe he doesn't like Sanchez. The Jets offense is still a question. And, they are in the same division as the Patriots.

This, Philly is the clear cut favorite in the NFC east and getting to the NFC championship is still a lot easier than the AFC

Asante Samuel wants out

The late-arriving CB Asante Samuel told reporters yesterday that he wants to go elsewhere, and who could blame him.

After acquiring corners Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asomugha last week, Asante Samuel has to feel like he is the odd man out in the Eagles plan for 2011. Samuel is nothing to sneeze at in the cornerback position. Entering his 9th season in the NFL, Samuel has collected 42 interceptions in his tenure in the league, 20 in his three seasons with the Eagles. I can understand his frustration, he has not been the weakest link.

Samuel was absent for the first few days of Eagles’ camp due to personal issues, but once he returned Friday afternoon, the gloves were off and he was mildly upset, to say the least. “I want to be where I’m wanted. If they’re tired of my big playmaking ability, they can ship me out”, he told any reporter willing to listen.

You had to see this coming. The questions were being asked on Friday night after the Eagles pulled off the trade for Asomugha. Egos are flaring and there have to be some major decisions made going forward.

I don't know why he wants to leave. His style of play is ideal for nickel CB where he can sort of hover around and jump the short passes. With him, that's a deadly Defensive Backfield.

How good are their safeties?

The Eagles are gonna want a Kings ransom, and our front office is not known for making big trades like that. Not happening.
