Grant Cohn: "If Baalke signs Floyd the day after signing Carlos Rogers, you’d have to conclude the 49ers really aren’t “rebuilding” this year. With Rogers and Floyd and perhaps a new center, the 49ers could be back in the hunt for the playoffs in 2011."

I think this would be a great signing for us - Floyd was amazing for San Diego last year while Vincent Jackson was holding out. He was Rivers' favourite deep ball target and it seemed like he always came down with it. He was amazing in the first 6 weeks before getting hurt including a 213 YARD performance vs. Oakland in week 5!
Floyd also had a 19.4 yds per catch average. He is the big play guy we are lacking from the WRs!
Floyd and Crabtree out wide, and Morgan and Ginn in the slots sounds pretty good to me!

We were "in the mix" for Nnamdi, Joseph, how many others. All tire kicking. We'll see.

I am cautiously optimistic that we will sign Floyd. Get him and a center and we are in business

Maybe. Or maybe he will see a real opportunity to be a #1 WR right here in SF. If he were wise and really believed in his abilities, Floyd should sign a 1 year, 5 mil deal for the 49ers. The hole at WR should end up getting him a bigger, long-term contract for 2012.

apparently we might sign him today!
that writer worded that horribly. He's a 49ers writer so he made it seem like the 49ers are in the lead but it actually just says they are one of a few he is deciding on

i think he doesnt sign here bc we wont offer him 5mil a year and another team wili...simple as that. I dont think our fo will justify spending about 5 mil per year on 2 wr's.....if our owners werent cheap and our gm and coach optimistic that we did not need a #1/#2 wr bc we have a system or a plan....then we would most likely have this guy by now

LaCanfora said "Floyd may decide to sign with the 49ers today."

Well, all I can say is, I hope you are wrong about this. I like the potential in a couple of our youngling receivers, but we need a #1 option, and Crabtree can't be counted on just yet.
