Smart free agency moves

If the niners do not make these such free agency moves i will be very disappointed.

CB - We need anoyher good cb. Im assuming nmandi will be out of reach so Joseph is the top cb available that we should target then if we are too cheap or he wants to go to another team cromartie would be nice. Not so sold on ike taylor bc of pitts pass rush helping out so much.

Wr - i know crabtree will at least be solid but we need another very good wr to help our qb. Jackson would be a nice target or braylon or either holmes.

OG - our rg is a weak link especially next to davis at rt that side of the line any average de or blitz could break through and usually did. We need a fa guard worse than any position on our team possibly. The falcons guard would be nice or any decent og in free agency. This would help our qb offense and sustain drives reduce turnovers and give our d more rest.

We should address these 3 positions in free agency especially a cb and og....i will understand if we dont get a wr but our owners cant be cheap on these issues. I hope the salary cap floor is high
Prepare to be disappointed.
i agree with you on CB and RG but WR?

We have Crabs, Morgan, Ginn, Ronald Johnson, Ziegler, and unproven Kyle Williams

Exactly my thoughts. I also think were going to be disapointed on the RG front. I imagine we'll make a play for a solid CB but probably not do much on getting a RG.

I am not saying I dislike our WRs, but if you dont think there is room for improvement with our WR corps, than I dont know what to tell you.
Re-signing Manny Lawson is a top priority in my book.
The 49ers don't ever go after good CBs... not since Nate anyway and we are paying for it ...
Besides being major players in Free agency DON'T EXPECT THE NINERS to be a major player in the playoff hunt either............. i expect the same results from these 2011 49ers from last years

How I read it was that we arent going to spend a lot of money. But we will add players where we need them.

Not a bad thing really, I hate over paying for players in FA. Its cap healthy to avoid the big splash. And it sounds like the salary cap is going to be around 120 mill this year. Teams like Pitt and Dallas are already above that cap number.

However the contracts this year will be way lower then in recent years do to the lower cap number. Plus they have already agreed to a Rookie salary cap. So maybe its a good time to spend a little bit, IDK.

He also said “If we can add a player to this team that’s going to make us better, we’re going to do it."

You mean we have unproven Crabs, proven not to be great Morgan, bust Ginn (I like him but he is a bust considering he was taken with the 9th overall pick), unproven rookie Ronald Johnson, unproven star of practice squad Ziegler, and unproven Kyle Williams.

HOPEFULLY, the new coaching regime can change this and bring out the best of them. Crabtree is going into his 3rd year which seems to be THE year for receivers. As it stands now, we have a less than spectacular WR corps.

Ficton. He only seen about 30 of the 80 mil. Why you think he has to restructure to stay on the team. then hell only get 7 instead of 14 mil. We did not lose on his contract . Quit perpetrating that myth.Cuz if he did what he was supposed to do then he would worth that contract.
We will resign him at a decent price and still go after another corner. Nate will be much better with a better pass rush.

Smart thing will be to make sure we resign Franklin. Keep that stout run D while improving on the Pass D. Makes since. trust just cuz we got a lockout don't mean the GM's aint talking to each other.. We do have to battle some very good RB's this yr. We need to keep that core. This is why we wont being players in FA cuz we will be locking up our core. Which includes DG!!!

But at what cost is the question.

Smart moves IMO:

Bring in the next solid CB AFTER Asomugha, prefer either J. Joseph or R. Marshall.

Sign Matt Hasselbeck, well versed in the WCO, and it would be fun watching him kick the s**t outta his old team.

Find the next best NT if Franklin's price is too high.

I think our O-line is fine if we can re-sign Baas. Adam Snyder did a surprisingly good job filling in for Rachal, who I think he should start over in place of.

Let Goldson walk, mediocre player that wants to be paid, LOL, NEXT!!!! Would much rather re-sign Manny Lawson, who deserves to be re-signed more than Mr. mediocre.
