Our GM free agency loser

He also said “If we can add a player to this team that’s going to make us better, we’re going to do it."

But at what cost is the question.

Smart moves IMO:

Bring in the next solid CB AFTER Asomugha, prefer either J. Joseph or R. Marshall.

Sign Matt Hasselbeck, well versed in the WCO, and it would be fun watching him kick the s**t outta his old team.

Find the next best NT if Franklin's price is too high.

I think our O-line is fine if we can re-sign Baas. Adam Snyder did a surprisingly good job filling in for Rachal, who I think he should start over in place of.

Let Goldson walk, mediocre player that wants to be paid, LOL, NEXT!!!! Would much rather re-sign Manny Lawson, who deserves to be re-signed more than Mr. mediocre.

Agree with all of this - except I hope we bring in another vet to challenge Chilo.

Yeah, I think we're pretty decent at WR, especially considering we drafted RoJo. I expect 9ers will address secondary, LBs, and O line in FA.

I feel your frustration about CBs but they have drafted a number of them. The problem is; they were never very good.

The greatest need, hopefully filled by Aldon Smith, is for a pass rusher. If Smith is what they hope he is, the entire secondary will be noticeably better.

I am quite hopeful about Smith because a rookie pass rusher is more likely to have an impact than a rookie DB. We shall see...

I feel Asomo & JJoseph will be too much $$ for us to compete. Detroit, Houston, Dallas among others. After Asomo - Joseph will be the next guy taken also at a high $.

There are 3 or 4 guys who I feel would be "smart" to consider. Smart because they are more affordable, young and proven. In addition they'd grow with us and add to and replace players who have 2-3 solid years left.

CB - Josh Wilson 26 years old 37 tackles, 3 INT's

ILB - Stephen Tulloch 26 years old [Could start day 1, Can play inside & outside, tough as nails and could replace Spikes]

DT - Brian Mebane 26 yrs old, Barry Cofiled, Remi Ayodele - I think he is 26 but not sure [Justin Smith is my favorite 49er but he isn't a kid, maybe 2-3 solid years left at the level he plays - I hope more] Mebane is also relentless and has a big-time work ethic. I really like Ayodele.

I think that's what the two rookies were intended for, at least in part. That plan would make more sense if the whole offseason wasn't lost. I think Snyder would be fine at guard. He has always played pretty well there, they just keep trying to make him a tackle.

i think snyder will start at RG he has been to all the practices and knows the system well chilo hasnt been to any so he will impress harbaugh and he is the better guard


i dont think we will be able to get namdi but i would really like to get one of:

namdi
joespeh
marshall
carlos rodgers
ike taylor

in that order but would be happy with any of those


also i doubt we go after a vet qb

we will sign smith and kaep will be our 2nd qb if we sign another vet kaep will be the inactive qb on gameday and i think harbaugh wants to use him in special packages
