Great player when healthy. I'm sure someone may take a flier on him, give him some low-risk contract.

Sanders was a guy who was just too small to play the way he did. Injuries were inevitable.
Sanders' history is why Goldson should never be a SS - similar build who would likely break down the same way Sanders has.
lol goldson is not 5'9 besides after watching last season im not sure he's half the tackler sanders is.
The point was that Goldson is too small to play SS.
On another level, safeties now need to be better cover guys than 5 years ago. Goldson isn't. Sanders was more known for run support than ball hawking although he did create turnovers when fully healthy.
Either way, Goldson is a fs. I hope taylor with his size and speed will become the next ss. lol he's a beast in madden for me. My buddy hates him he's like f that guy, I play as him shut the run down. Then he passes and he's like f**k that guy he's so fast he can cover the field and shut it down like a cb. I hope taylor becomes that player and future great ss for us!

He's one of the great undersized players of all time but he plays too big for his size, now that he's an old vet now either he changes the way he plays or he is just gonna be another one of those vets that injuries forced him to retire......but I say an injured old vet like Bob Sanders is way better than a scrub like Goldson.IMO

Just saw on ESPN and PFT that Bob Sanders was cut by the Colts. I would really like to see him replace Goldson and keep Smith & Mays as depth. If he signs an incentive laden deal; he could be a great find for Fangio's Defense.
No thanks. Dude's played like 2 games a year for the past 3 years. He just can't seem to ever stay healthy.
He's been a beast when he's healthy. I'd take the risk.

Matt Maiocco MaioccoCSN
Six Tweets from folks wondering if 49ers should pursue Bob Sanders. He has been healthy for nine games the past 3 seasons. Enough said.

Maiocco's opinion would have meant more to me pre-CSNBA.
He's fallen off. Badly.
Anyway..

Minimum contract only. He is not worth a penny more.
Figure we get six games out of him (if that). His contract per start would be among the top safeties.
Or, sign him to a minimum contract that gives him a huge bonus if he starts all games.
