The point isn't to pay 4 million a year for him, its a 2 yr deal worth 3 million and could go up from there based on incentives. The 2nd yr worth 2 million with no guarantees. Reward is worth the risk.

I'd over him a 2 year deal, minimum pay with bonuses triggered by # of starts(say 75% or 24), tackles and picks(say 50 and 3) with a club option of a 3rd year if he meets the # of starts incentive.
I really hope we don't tag Goldson, it is one hell of a gamble but I really think Smith and Mays both need to be on the field at the same time this year.

theres probably a thread just like this on about 30 other teams boards, couple of knuckleheads in every fan base throw out the possibility of getting him

We got Westbrook last year and he had similar issues in terms of staying healthy.
I say bring in both Sanders & Atogwe! Add a CB & OLB in the draft and we are set on defense.

no, westbrook did not have a "similar" issue to sanders. westbrook was relatively healthy for his entire career and then fell off the last year or so with concussions.
bob sanders has ALWAYS had injury problems.... for years and years and years. frankly i don't care if we sign him so long as the coaches and other players understand he won't be around for any significant portion of the season.

Bring him in on a cheap contract with major PT incentives. If he's healthy he's as good as anyone in the game and well worth the money, if he's hurt he's not, so just load up the contract with incentives. Low risk high reward.

Dead weight that will waste our time for a slight hopet hat he finds the fountain of youth! Now that I said that he will probably or most likely be the come back player of the year and will be back to his Probowl form.

Figure we get six games out of him (if that). His contract per start would be among the top safeties.
Or, sign him to a minimum contract that gives him a huge bonus if he starts all games.
gm that
