lets trade rachal for mankins its a fair deal
...and let's watch rachal becoming a pro bowler

it was a joke

I dont know why? Many players with much less raw talent have gone on to do well after leaving the Niner. Kyle Koiser comes to mind.

i dont think rachal will be tht good hes to lazy and is slow his run block is above average maybe even one of the leagues best among guards but his pass blocking skills may as well be the worst he needs help on the simplist assignments
ive mentioned this many times before in other mankins threads....

dude is from Cathys valley(maripose area). grew up a niner fan.

has said he only wants to sign one more deal then retire when his contract is up. so he wants about a 5 year deal. maybe 4 now that this season just ended.

and he just build a 3 million dollar home here in cali near where he grew up so...

(my cousin grew up with him and is good friends with him)

All I know is that he looked good in his rookie year and showed much promise. For some reason he started regressing. All I'm saying is the ability is there, he just needs motivation or coaching or both.

The only thing that scares me about that kind of talk is that you never know if he's coming to play at the highest level or the Niners are just a quick stop at the bank before he completly mails it in.

Not many come to mind for our team. I think your thinking about the raiders

Harvey Dahl - ATL

Kyle Kosier - Dallas

Anthony Adams - Chicago

Spellman - KR for TB

Forget about even making it personal with the Niners. Sometimes players dont work out with the team that drafts them, but then go on to do well. I think he's shown he can play. In fact, it was either Barrows or Maiocco that said Rachal's play improvemented towards the middle/end of the year.

Either way, if Harbaugh is half as good as everyone thinks, this line should be dominate for years with or without Logan Mankins. Nobody in the NFL has invested as much as we have in the Oline. So far we have a negative return on investments.
Mankins would be a great addition to any O line. However, his cost is probably prohibitive and I believe he now plays left guard so assuming Rachal the odd man out, there would need to be some line reshuffling. Maybe this year we could play the two rookies on the right side.
Would love to have him, but he will cost a ton.

Why can't he play right. I'm not about to move mike and davis to the same side, even if you flop davis to lt, i'd move mike to right.... Their not ready both have a mental side to over come, and if the have a mistake at the same time, it could cost a qb his life.

Would he take Nate clements money, I'd rather pay him 15 million a year... Besides he's contract with the pats was not bad, but kraft pissed him off, our gain.

Assuming there's no odd market adjustment due to the CBA, Mankins will be bargaining from here . . .

Mankins in only one year older and is just as durable.

LOL all those guys that you mentioned, did they make the pro bowl? Koiser & Dahl maybe were the best, but they haven't put in yr in yr out stellar performances.
Sorry i just don't think we've invested that much if anything we've had very bad investments. Rachal's play improved towards the end of the yr. Arizona, GB, STL, he stunk it up.
Mankins would be a nice signing. Not only would it be an improvement over Chilo, but he'd probably make Davis better as well.
We just spent 2 1st rounder on the o-line. I doubt we pt that kind of $$$ now for a guard. I'd rather spend the $$$ on Ndamdi anyway.
As much as I would like to see Mankins come here, we already have wayyyy too much invested in the OL. Staley, Iupati, and Davis are first-rounders. Baas is going to cost a little bit to tie up, and Rachal is under contract. I could see them drafting a OG with 3rd/4th round pick, but I doubt Mankins comes here.

I would rather spend that money on Nmandi, so we can target a DE with the #7 pick...
