Nnamdi Asomugha will become a FA

At least he won't have to move if he signs with us.

Hopefully he likes the bay area.

Highly doubt we get him but I'm holding out hope.

The 9ers mighthave a chance if they are willing to compete salary wise. He has not played football outside of a bay area team since 1999. Plus if they cut Clements, the savings could be considered a discount for Asomugha on the 9ers payroll.

Safeties could help Spencer more, blitz more, and play in the box more.

I would give him the biggest niner contract in history to land. f**k you Clements, never really appreciated how you played as a "shutdown" corner. Bring on Nmandi

How about this approach, what if we change clements into a safety so we can take advantage of his tackling skills, I think he would be a better safety than CB and he could be a probowl safety. Nnamdi has better cover skills, which fits a CB better and Clements has better tackling ability, which fits a safety better, we can have the best of both worlds and a totally energized defense, giving the defense a better ability to blitz and force these offenses into doing things they don't want to do, as Clements does have some cover ability as well.

He's great against the run and awful in coverage. He's constantly beat against the double move and can't keep stride on the deep ball. Everyone knows he's overly aggressive and they like to bait him. His game has been exposed. He's a liability and severely overpaid.

Clements would be a horrible safety and has already shot down the proposition when members of the media asked him. An over-aggressive and slow CB who routinely bites on double moves is not the optimal FS.

i think all the big hitters will be in on this bidding war, it's a different scenario then when with clements signing, less questions about asomugha. you could see the redskins, cowboys, indy needs a splash, the list is endless

except for 2-3 teams max, anyone could use his services. that said, this is a bidding war i'd love to win, as stated before, his addition would radically affect our draft strategy. you need a qb on offense to do anything, you need cbs to survive on defense.

what could we get if we trade Clements? He's shown that he was over paid

sounds like all the players are pissed after Cable getting let go. Al is sooo stupid, they have a lot of free agents that are just going to leave now.
